Yes that definitely needs to be swapped to the top rail. Very easy to do even hiding the cable behind the headliner. Took me about an hour to install both my front and rear dash cams in the Maverick along with hard wiring it.

I agree with others, you get a much better view with the camera mounted at the top of the window.
