Yes, I paid MSRP. It was the only one in my state, possible the only one in New England, so there wasn't a whole lot of leverage on my side ;)
To get a Maverick at MSRP is what most people dream about. What better deal did you think you could get even if you waited 6 months?

Sure...with a $5k uplift, of course!...that's an additional "delivery fee" :)
I am sure you are a man of HIGH moral character and therefor if you profited on an exchange that you already feel guilty of, would only add to your guilt. I could not possibly consider adding to your guilt. Therefor I again offer a way to relieve you of your guilt, gift the car to me..... LOL
Thank you for your careful considerations!
Did I mention that I waited 460 days for mine, four hundred and sixty long lonely agonizing days!

LOL just having fun

did you order it in hot pink or something? Obviously you ordered a 2022, which rolled into a 2023 which now rolled to a 2024
Engine block heater and got caught in the gas tank recall. Had to reorder for a third time so my truck would show up before Thanksgiving.

So you ordered yours sometime around April 1, 2021? Where the order banks open then?
Counting from the day I put down my deposit, July 4th, 2022, to hold my spot so it would be submitted first thing on the day the order banks opened again. Not that it did me any good in the end.

I continue to be very happy with my XLT Hybrid...and after speaking with several other owners in various parking lots at Lowe's etc, I feel VERY lucky to have gotten this truck. I basically started looking seriously on a Thursday, was contacted by a deal Friday right after lunch saying they had one come in that a customer didn't want, and we drove down and picked it up Saturday.

I have no idea how the "waiting list" works, but I know that mine was the ONLY one I could find in the state of Maine on that Friday. So it just seems weird that there are people I've spoken to that have been waiting for a year to get their Hybrid Maverick, and here I am buying one in basically 48hrs.
It seems like this vehicle should have been offered to customers that were on the list and had been waiting a long time for their vehicle.

Is that just too complex for Ford and the dealership to handle? Shouldn't they have called someone on the list and offered the truck to them? Do they just figure that in the long run, they're already frustrated and it's not going to really matter?

It's a head scratcher for me...
No. Because then another truck ordered won't get purchased. And they'd have to do it again. And again. And again. And the thing is, nobody is then going to get the 'exact truck they wanted' and affects customer satisfaction. Especially since they did wait some time and now are in a truck that for the next so many years will gripe about how they didn't get the Lariat, etc, etc.

I know it sucks looking from the outside, and that many people would take the jump at an available one while sitting on a order (which probably happened here, too). But it's better to let the customers come to them who are impatient than to seek out buyers who already ordered a very specific truck.

They have lots full of them in Florida. Not all @ msrp,
and you may have to look for the specific packages you want, but they are all over down here.

When I bought my 2024 in December basically it was the same situation. I had just started looking to see if I might get lucky and find one, so I got a call from a sales lady I had been talking to and she said they got 2 in that morning and would let me know if the people who ordered them was going to accept delivery. She called me back about one of them and the person refused it, but it wasn't really what I wanted and while we were talking the second person also refused the other one. So I went that day after work and bought the second one. I got it for MSRP and have been extremely happy with it.

Awesome! I ordered mine last August. After checking on what I actually ordered, I didn't want that truck. But I saw on the dealer's website that several dealer ordered Mavs arrived. I decided to buy one of those. Closed the deal on President's Day. Paid MSRP, nothing more. Dealer sold what they had in stock too. Maybe I got lucky, but I'm seeing a lot of Mavericks around here in Maine lately. I cannot be happier with my purchase.

I bought mine used with 14k miles and 18 months on it and paid the MSRP window sticker. At that price we did get the 10/100k ESP PremiumCare with day one rental.

At that time we all entered the market to buy a unique and high demand vehicle right after most world governments had practically shut down their economies. The perfect storm. We had bad timing and you didn’t. Simple.
