After I had my bad sprayed in with bullet liner all the way under the rear windshield, I started to notice some annoying rattling coming from the rear windshield. I initially thought that this is coming from the bed cover or stuff I have under the seat but after removing all those I still have the rattling. Did anyone else noticed that after getting the bedliner sprayed in? I am suspecting that the bedliner material somehow rubs against the windshield during the driving and causes the rattling. Don't have any other explanation especially because the rattling started right after I got the bedliner. Thoughts?

Check behind the seat, lots there that can make noise. As for the spray liner, I can't imagine it creating a situation for noises.

Let us know what you fine.

I've heard a rattle twice on mine coming from the rear. Both times while coming to a stop on a bumpy road. No bedliner here though.

I did and I even had the back portion of the seat down while driving, it sounds that it is coming right from the glass area. super annoying although the rattling almost disappears when I drive on the freeway. Will continue my search until find out the source. BTW I also have rattling from the dashboard area but this is a story on its own.....

damn…I’d have everything taken apart.

I try compressed air in cracks and holes, wiggling panels, and jumping up and down…but it’s time for trim removal and micro cameras.

My cousin says to get spray foam adhesive and start filling gaps, until the rattle stops.

He also says, it’s the ghost of the finger that was lost by a Mav assembly line worker tapping to escape.

Don’t listen to my cousin.

I think I found the source of the evil. It is the plastic trim on the top area behind the seat. When you try to move it, it squeaks like a little piglet. I will apply some plastic lotion and will put some sealing foam behind it, lets see how it goes.

damn it, that was not the source. I put some sealing foam behind the plastic trim so that is now super snug and now rattle nor squeak from that area. Took a test drive and the same nasty rattle is still there. The quest continues......

Any chance of having someone else drive the truck while you interactively poke and prod?
That may save some time and frustration. It sounds as if you're being thorough.

This is exactly what I was planning to do. It is really super annoying to have this constant rattle.

Could it be ford left that section bare with the in house spray for a reason. Material build up right under glass, body flex during driving, contact noise??

That was my first thought looking at how close that spray is to the glass. A tiny bit of flex there and it will contact the glass.

If there is a gap tape a piece of paper between the glass and the bed. Take a drive and then examine the paper for dents or scratches.

If there isn't a gap, try to find the closest bits and jump up and down in the bed to see if they get close

This is exactly what i am suspecting. Will hold me ear on the glass while my dad drives and see it is coming from there.

Actually a great idea, but the gap is much bigger than a piece of paper.
