Maverick shares some of the same parts as its big brothers, like, F-150 third brake light, etc. I figured the antenna was also shared. The aluminum stubby antenna I ordered was for a 2019-2022 Ranger. It came with a M6x1.00 threaded adapter. It also came with a smaller M5x0.80 threaded stud adapter, which is what threads into the Maverick. Both antennas had the same concave shape on the bottom mating surface.

What’s the point of replacing it? It’s not that long to begin with.

Only two reasons I can think of - it does look better (IMHO) and I won't have to take that stubby off when going thru the carwash.

I went with the 4" and I like it much better than the long one that was there before. The 2" was tempting but I was concerned with the reception. The 4" seems to work fine.

I’ve been through the car wash several times with my F150 and it’s whip antenna. No problems yet.

The 2" was not good with reception on my Lariat with HD radio. Returned it.
