I have been trying to assign a cause to certain noises (low and unobtrusive as they may be) which I hear under the hood. I hear them when first entering vehicle even before starting. I will hear these same sounds while sitting in vehicle after shutting down. The other day I came up with a theory about the Radiator Shutters. If this is the answer, then the shutters are open or shut not variable. Any other observations on this ?

I have been told that the clickety-click sounds are relays. I've never bothered to find out.

It sure sounds like a lot of them though.

I hear the same sound. I have had my Maverick for over a year now and believe you are correct (radiator shudders). Hear it every morning when I get in to go to work. Totally normal as far as I know.

The shutters do a sweep self-test as part of startup. Their operation is monitored by the PCM and will set a CEL if they aren't moving as commanded.

Ford Maverick Radiator Shutters sounds EFpSTO

sorry, had to do it.
The sounds are relays though. It's the vehicles AI telling you that you are about to be skynetted.

As I said this happens before startup. What is CEL ?

As already stated, they're relays. They do it even after shutdown at random times. It's part of the system.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

May not be true, but it seems like if I do a double-lock with the fob, the clickety clack noises happen a lot less frequently.

I despise locking the truck in my own damned garage, though.

Well, you didn't describe what the nature of these sounds are other than they're "low and unobtrusive".
Yes, thank you, it is low volume and pitch. I would not say it was "clickity-clack" , more like something opening and closing. This morning for example, I heard it almost simultaneously when the driver's door opened up on a 15 degree morning. I do not remember if this same thing happens when passenger door is opened.
