For @fordvideoguy : Talked to my dealer today asking about allocations. My MY23 order (Lariat hybrid, lux pkg, CP360, CP360 Assist) is a cancelled MY22 that was scheduled for production and had a VIN #. It has been at priority 2 since the first day FORD moved these orders but has been passed over in the scheduling done on 12/1 and 12/8. I point blank asked the new inventory coordinator at my dealer if they have an allocation for my order. His response was ' I don't believe Ford would've put an 02 priority code on the Maverick if we didn't have allocation. '. Sounds great, but I'm not sure that's an accurate statement.

@fordvideoguy - if FORD put the priority 2 on my order, does this mean the dealer has an allocation for it? Or did FORD just put ALL the cancelled orders in at priority 2 regardless of dealer allocation? Thanks!!

I believe allocations go by month. They should get one eventually for your 2. It may just not be this month (or next, or next after that, and so on...).

I am a cancelled 2022 that was ordered on 10/9/21. My transitioned 2023 order is still sitting at priority 2 with no VIN or production week. My dealer said he had more allocations for Mavericks in January than the number that were actually scheduled. My dealer said he has no clue why my order was not scheduled as I have the priority and he said he had the allocations.

I think Tim mentioned something in his livestream about his dealership having allocations but his region didn't so orders wouldn't be scheduled. Not sure if that is the case for me. I'm in Pennsylvania.

Wouldn't that be double dipping allocations? An allocation was already used for his cancelled scheduled VIN.

Ford specifically said that they would give allocation to dealerships for these cancelled and reordered hybrid Mavericks...but that allocation would be distributed over a period of months.

Allocation isn't linked to a specific order. Our dealership had our one cancelled 22 rescheduled as 23 that first week, but we had already had a free allocation. So we didn't yet get any extra allocation for that unit, but it was moved to 02 and scheduled. We should be getting an extra allocation in a future month to make up for it.

Your dealer may have no remaining unscheduled allocation for the Nov-Dec timeframe?? You might need to wait until after the next wholesale and more allocation is given. Or your dealer does have allocation, and yours just hasn't been selected for scheduling yet because of some constraint / other orders being selected first.

Not necessarily, the priority 2 status is given solely because it was a canceled order so it can be scheduled first within dealer's current available allocations. So if they don't have allocations it would not get scheduled.

Dealers should be required to disclose how many allocations they have for the vehicle you are ordering . A lot of people have been strung along because of low allocations when they could have ordered elsewhere .

So, not only are we at the mercy of our dealer's allocations, but also the regional allocations? And Ford may schedule less vehicles than the dealer's allocations for the month? OK then.

Allocations are like trading cards. Dealers can trade them if they don't need them. So, just because a dealer has X number of allocations doesn't mean they will get X number of trucks. They may get less and they may get more.

Agreed but if they are on the edge and you know it you could order from another dealer .

But no one knows their exact full year allocation, not Ford not the dealers. They only have an estimate. Actual allocation is determined each month and is dependent upon:
  • How many Mavericks Ford expects to make that month
  • How many Mavericks get allocated to your region
  • Your dealers last 12 months sales
  • Your dealers unsold vehicles on the lot at end of the month
  • Your dealers sales compared to other dealers in the region.
All of this changes month to month and is impossible to predict for a full year.

Don't need a full year prediction. I just want to know what's up for the next month or two. Dealer doesn't seem to know or just won't tell.

Well, Ford did not tell us how many allocations they "predict" we will get in the entire production year. Also, allocations are given on a monthly basis not all at the start of production year.

I guess some dealers just dont do the right thing . It has been a painfully long wait .Im a year and the truck is do to be built this week finally .

Wow so now the region it is in counts towards allocations? Not the individual dealers?
