Maverick pros, I need your help and opinion on this.

I'm considering Maverick XL Hybrid for a few reasons.
  • Save gas on my daily commute.
  • For camping, outdoor activities, and picnics with my 2 kids on the weekends.
    • Mostly camping in the state park or campsites
    • Nothing too extreme or overlanding.
Here are my questions:
  1. Will FWD be okay enough to get around NJ/NY mountain campsites and such?
Or should I wait for AWD as rumored?

  2. I will be trading in my current vehicle or sell it on carvana to put it towards the down payment,
Considering my vehicle will go down in value, should I sell it right now and eat up that pesky dealer marks ups?

  3. Or, should I accept the depreciation and just wait for the inventory to catch up?
Also, since there is a rumor that other brands might launch hybrid compact trucks, should I wait for the Maverick's price to drop?

How can I make the switch to Maverick without too much $$$$$$$
Please help this poor newb soul.

Thank you

Either he put in orders and got super lucky to get 3 or he purchased from dealers with mark up?

Jeff Bezos made billions. I'm sure he won't care I'm calling him selfish. I got no hate for people who take advantage of this market conditions. I would do the same if given the opportunity.

Nice~~~ How did you pull off 3 deals?!
Do you mind sharing the dealer that you worked with?
Also, how much did you pay for the dealer mark up?

Order the xl hybrid with co-pilot 360. Rubber floor mats will keep the dust/dirt down. It’s high enough for state park roads but I’d be reticent to travel “off road” .

Not sure what to do about your current vehicle but I can give you some advice about ordering a Maverick...

To avoid overspending, you need a good honest dealer and you should be shopping for that now. Do not wait until July 17th. It takes some time.

Go in person to your local dealerships and ask them about their process for ordering. Calling or emailing isn't as effective as meeting someone in the showroom but it can be a quick way to screen against really bad dealerships. Get information about deposits and whether they're refundable or not, guarantees on price protection, any required add-ons, doc fees, or markups they'll want you to pay at delivery, etc. READ A LOT on these forums about how to find a good dealer. You can also check regional forums here for stories both good and bad about dealers in your area. Watch youtube videos from Long McArthur Ford in Salina KS; Tim can tell you what you should expect from a good dealer.

I can't stress this part of the process enough. You've got to remember - you can't buy a Maverick from Ford Motor Company - only from a Ford dealer. Whichever dealer you start working with can make a big difference in your experience and what the bottom line ends up being when it arrives.

For now, try to make the vehicle a secondary matter to which dealer(s) you want to work with. Once you have an order in for 2024 you can always keep your eyes peeled for a reasonable deal on a Maverick off the lot.

Ford Maverick Pros please help me... 200w

Got no idea how they were even purchased and wants to derail the thread to make himself feel better about his assumption.

Go to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

Haters gonna hate.

Ask hikers in your area what kind of vehicles they are using to get to the campsites.
