PROS

Agree with all of your Pros (though I don't have the FX4 package). I do a little better than you for mileage on the highway at 28-29 ... A full tank above 30mpg has only been accomplished 1 time... It remains somewhat elusive for me (and I thought I drive like an old man).

CoPilot and CoPilot Assist features work great... especially once you read the manuals and figure out how to maximize their utility. Under some circumstances the thing is almost self driving with you only having to put a little weight on the steering wheel. I love the proximity warnings and cross traffic alerts when backing up. I came from an 06 Frontier w/ manual everything, so I'm surprised how quickly I've embraced all of the tech.

CONS

I only agreed with one of your Cons (the infotainment), but I'll elaborate on it and add three more.

However, you were being kind with the infotainment system... I have the Lariat, so the Sync 3 system... It's just aweful... incredibly laggy. The B&O system does not sound nice (and MY2024 received a very downgraded amplifier compared to 22 and 23 model years).

Paint is thin and scratches and chips so easily. Definitely will do the clay bar and ceramic coating when I'm back stateside in mid April

HVAC controls are very wonky. I have the Lariat and I don't find the system to be all that automatic or intuitive... it's definitely erratic... and does the heating you up, freezing you out thing constantly.

In stock form (EB Lariat AWD 4K Tow) it sits just a bit low for a truck (even a fake unibody truck like what we have). Going to increase tire size to 245/60 R18. I've purchased a 1" f , 3/4" r lift kit that has been used favorably by a few here on MTC for Bronco Sport and Mavericks.
I don’t disagree. The infotainment system could be MILES better for sure. I haven’t taken it on any long trips yet so as far as the co pilot or ACC I can’t comment on. After tinkering with it again just for shits I was finally able to get the seat belt chime to go away on the drivers side this morning lol. So that was nice. That’s a bummer to hear about the paint not being that great either, I may dive into getting it ceramic coated or something if it’s really that bad.
The pollen is starting to collect on it now so I guess for the next month or so I’ll own a yellow Maverick

Yeah, I had this issue with the no lights too. No lights, no door unlock, no start. No fix.

I have the Fx4 package and moonroof and pretty much agree with your assessments.......I haven't driven out of the city limits so only get 24.5 mpg driving between traffic lights.......I get seat belt chimes in anything I drive, but having to press the OK button to turn off the seat belt display is annoying......Can't complain about the infotainment system on an entry level vehicle, but I'm surprised to hear that the upgraded B&O system is not good. I'm getting decent sound for what I bought by reducing mid-range and turning up the volume......No problem with the dial shifter except when I spin the air conditioner knob to change gears.

I recently got my FX4 a few weeks ago. Essentially the same as yours but in Hot Pepper Red. The pros I couldn't agree more, especially the ride. I can tell you that there is a noticeable difference in ride quality compared to a non-FX4 Maverick as I traded one in for this one.

The upgraded suspension does help with on-road performance despite having off-road capability in mind. It does help take potholes and road undulations a lot better than the shocks on the regular Maverick. Another thing that helps is a little more sound insulation. Chances are you have the foam pads in the front door jambs that were missing entirely on 2022 model year builds. They had the part made but you had to order it from a dealership if you wanted it bad enough. It helps deaden engine noise and it's pretty affective. It's definitely a lot quieter than my old one.

I will admit, the seatbelt reminder is annoying but there's really no way to override it other than to hit the "OK" button to get rid of it immediately. For me, I just ignore it and start driving and eventually it will go away on its own, I think it's after twenty seconds.

The shifter I'm already used to because I worked as a service porter at a dealership and drove a fair share of cars with that style shifter such as a Chrysler 300, Ram 1500, and a Ford Fusion.

The infotainment is very glitchy and unresponsive. It works when it wants to. One minute it's fairly quick, the next minute it takes seconds to load another page. But the 2025 model year fixes that with an all new infotainment screen and new software. You can bet it will have better response time.

Fuel economy is fairly good. Around town, it's just okay but on the highway is where it really excels. The highest I got it to was 36 from an hour drive on a state highway trip last week. My old one achieved up to 38 on the same trip which is the highest I've ever gotten it. To get almost 40mpg on a non-hybrid Maverick is unbeatable. And you get the better reliability from the Ecoboost rather than the hybrid. Sorry hybrid owners but it's true.

A small "work around" on the seatbelt thing is to buckle all the backseat seatbelts. When you buckle your belt the screen will go away without pressing OK.

Eh, not a big deal for me. I just ignore it since it goes away on its own after a little while. I won't dwell on it like some on here.

3. All the chimes and jingles and horns going off I don’t love. I haven’t been able to get any of the information I’ve looked at on here about removing the seat belt chime to go away so that’s disappointing, tried just about every suggestion I’ve looked at.
The instructions to disable the seat belt chime do work. But you have to just do it multiple times. Eventually it will work.

On the horn going off, if you're referring to when it honks if you hit the lock button twice, you can turn that off in the steering wheel menu vehicle settings. It's under Locks> Mis-locks. Disable that.

I'm a bit confused, does the seatbelt warning go off if you're wearing your seatbelt and the passenger seat is empty?

Had my 24 Lariat hybrid for 3500 miles, almost 3 months. I knew what to expect when ordering truck.
Pro:
  • Gas mileage, average 42 mpg
  • Peppynees is good for such good gas mileage.
  • Comfortable seats & ride quality
  • Sound system is good enough for me.
  • 4 ride comfortable, as good or better than 2015 F150 Lariat rear seats
  • AC & radio controls are located conveniently to me
  • easy to park
  • Price$$

Cons - some personal & picky.
  • Wind noise more than I would want in Larial, taking in for warranty work
  • Left foot is uncomfortable on longer drives
  • Cheap feeling interior, sun visors & rear view mirror especially
  • Dome light & rear cargo light is to far apart? Should be in same general location?
  • Lane assist needs to be better. Living in large city with lots of construction and lane re-routing it gets confused.
  • Handling is subpar to me (other car is a performance Mustang Shelby GT500)
  • Steering wheel controls are challenging to get used to
  • Overall cheapness of the truck.
I really like the truck, does everything I will need, haul plywood, boards & dirt so far. I only used the 15 F150 to its max 3 times in 8 years. I knew the truck was on the lower end spectrum, but meets my expectations. I like driving the Maverick better than the F150. Truck reminds me of the 90s Rangers, no power windows, cloth seats, cheap.
I would buy again. :)

And dealerships that schedule appointments and when you arrive tell you they don't work on EVs (Mach E in my case).

Yes, the passenger seat can be empty and seatbelt not buckled. The seatbelt screen should disappear as soon as you buckle yours (and all the belts in the back are buckled).

My experience so far…

Pros: Great gas mileage, amazing utility, fun to drive (especially on long trips)

Cons: Build quality is awful. Radio/Media interface is a joke. Endless recalls. Truck dies in the middle of busy traffic.
I am guessing you own a 2022 hybrid?

Someone posted a fix for the Seat Belt screen last week using Forscan. Also been eyeing a few other programming mods that have been discussed. Too bad Ford can't make an easier stock option to customize the user interface than having to "hack" the system with software
