Pros-
1. The ride. Man it’s good, I don’t know if the performance suspension helps any with that as I haven’t got to ride in one that doesn’t have the fx4 package. Pot holes feel like the highway reflectors. Hardly noticeable.
2. The handling, probably goes hand in hand but the handling is unbelievable.
3. The interior seat comfort. Fits me like a glove, I’m 6’2 220 and haven’t once felt uncomfortable driving.
4. The appearance, I’ve gotten so many compliments on how good and nice it looks I quit keeping count.
5. I’m 100 percent glad that i decided to go with a moonroof. Feels good getting a little sun on the top of my head lol.
6. The peppiness of the engine, passing cars or getting in the passing lane is nothing in this truck. It’s extremely quick for what it is.
7. The gas mileage, getting almost 27mpg is like hitting the lottery for me, my other car maybe got 15.

Cons-
1. I don’t love the “sewing machine” sound it makes on cold starts but is what it is.
2. Transmission shifting is little erratic until it gets warm. Granted I’ve never had a vehicle with an 8 speed so going through that many gears will probably feel awkward to me.
3. All the chimes and jingles and horns going off I don’t love. I haven’t been able to get any of the information I’ve looked at on here about removing the seat belt chime to go away so that’s disappointing, tried just about every suggestion I’ve looked at.
4. The infotainment screen response to touch is little wonky to say the least. It’s not instantaneous like an iPhone would be.
5. It was a con when I first got it but I wasn’t a huge fan of the dial shifter but it’s grown on me somewhat. Don’t mind it as much now.
6. I mentioned in the pros about the moonroof, I’m a get some fresh air windows down kinda person, that being said rolling one window down doesn’t work, the air coming through immediately turns into a thumping noise that’s pretty brutal lol. Hard to explain. The back sliding glass really helps with this though from what Ive noticed.

I’m sure there’s more but this is just a few things I like and also don’t care much for so far. All that being said I’m super happy with the truck. Cheers 🍻

My experience so far…

Pros: Great gas mileage, amazing utility, fun to drive (especially on long trips)

Cons: Build quality is awful. Radio/Media interface is a joke. Endless recalls. Truck dies in the middle of busy traffic.

yeah that turbulence when opening the window is a little annoying - I just open the passenger side window a little bit and that eliminates it as it must equalize the pressure or something

I agree with Max’s pro(s) big time! The only major con for me is the shifter knob. Another slight con is, when I load it with 3/4 ton of material - it really could use some overload/air helper shocks in the rear.

I’ve got to be realistic about this little truck (2023XL fwd) - I got a brand new truck for $24K that does everything I do (haul garage a couple times a month, tow a #5000 boat spring&fall, haul 3/4 ton of stuff once in a while) and then typical driving. And Yes, really is quite peppy!

Also to go along with my original post, this could be considered a con I guess but to go along with how good the ride is I’ve caught myself MANY times looking down and not realizing I’m going 70-75mph. That will really take some getting use to, 70 feels like 50 to me 🥴

Had my XL 2 years now, with only ONE NEGATIVE, but it is a REAL PITA. No overhead light comes on when I open the door. And it is darker than "4 feet up a cows..." where I park. I tried a "push light" between the front and rear doors, but the adhesive would not stick to the panel. I want to pour gasoline in there and throw in a match, but gasoline is so damned expensive.

I believe the sound with one window down is called the Helmholtz effect. Good to hear about it fitting you like a glove? I'm exactly the same size and weight and I haven't gotten one yet but I'm leaning towards it

Re:transmission - it will begin to learn your driving style and adjust shift points to work on the smoothness. It isn't the best transmission but far from the worst. The ZF 9 Speed in my wife's Odyssey is awful.

Also - the 8F35 in the Maverick has a (I believe 4th) gear lockout unless you're under full throttle so it really operates as a 7 speed 99% of the time.

That was the FIRST thing I tried, as putting the switch in the middle position has been the method for the last 100 years, in ALL makes of vehicles. The universal response on this forum is that this is a battery-saving device installed by Ford. 'Must be a helluva battery!

Window turbulence happens on many vehicles. Seems to be more common on newer vehicles. Opening windows diagonally opposite from each other works well.

I might bite on the battery saver if I had a hybrid, but mine is an EB and has same issue. Have an issue with bluetooth that I'm scheduled in for next week. Will bring this up too, not sure if they're related.

RE: Sunroof and remote operated sliding rear window = a great combination. I seldom use A/C.

I had it on both my 2022 Lariat 2.0EB and now on my 2024 Lariat hybrid. I find the sunroof is good up to about 60 mph, then the noise gets too abnoxious.

PROS

Agree with all of your Pros (though I don't have the FX4 package). I do a little better than you for mileage on the highway at 28-29 ... A full tank above 30mpg has only been accomplished 1 time... It remains somewhat elusive for me (and I thought I drive like an old man).

CoPilot and CoPilot Assist features work great... especially once you read the manuals and figure out how to maximize their utility. Under some circumstances the thing is almost self driving with you only having to put a little weight on the steering wheel. I love the proximity warnings and cross traffic alerts when backing up. I came from an 06 Frontier w/ manual everything, so I'm surprised how quickly I've embraced all of the tech.

CONS

I only agreed with one of your Cons (the infotainment), but I'll elaborate on it and add three more.

However, you were being kind with the infotainment system... I have the Lariat, so the Sync 3 system... It's just aweful... incredibly laggy. The B&O system does not sound nice (and MY2024 received a very downgraded amplifier compared to 22 and 23 model years).

Paint is thin and scratches and chips so easily. Definitely will do the clay bar and ceramic coating when I'm back stateside in mid April

HVAC controls are very wonky. I have the Lariat and I don't find the system to be all that automatic or intuitive... it's definitely erratic... and does the heating you up, freezing you out thing constantly.

In stock form (EB Lariat AWD 4K Tow) it sits just a bit low for a truck (even a fake unibody truck like what we have). Going to increase tire size to 245/60 R18. I've purchased a 1" f , 3/4" r lift kit that has been used favorably by a few here on MTC for Bronco Sport and Mavericks.

My only CONS at this point are infotainment/radio. I am trying a couple of things differently so hopefully they will help. Seats are just ok, but have got better as I get use to them and they break in.
