93 octane, second tank, still base tune, and full factory exhaust and full weight. Getting down there!

Eventually, 12.40s or lower with 93 octane, and 12.20s or lower with E30. I don't really care about dyno numbers, strictly care about overall performance numbers.
Need to upgrade the fuel system to run E85? I'd do that, and a bigger turbo.

You don't have to have E85 to go fast, you just need the airflow of a turbo that won't knock on 93 octane, and the power to weight needed to go the ET you're looking for! For example, here are my quick runs on 93, still base tune, still full weight, but with open downpipe. It did exactly what I thought it would!

I don't know where the limits of E30 are on our fuel system, nor do I know the limits of 93. I think after revisions, this corsair turbo will probably be able to find those limits. We shall see!

As far as weight is concerned and maybe i asked this before but have you thought about tires and tire diameter? Maybe smaller for weight and to rev quicker?

I have looked into a couple sets of wheels, and there are a couple that have my attention. Konig hypergrams in stock size are 15.5lbs each, and there is another wheel that is in the 17.5lb range that is much cheaper. They hypergrams are very hard to come by in 17" and 5x108.

As far as smaller wheels, I don't know what will fit over the factory brakes.

If I can save 10lbs a corner, that's a huge deal. But wheels also cost money, lol.

I was thinking lower profile and narrower tires. Im assuming traction isnt really an issue yet with the awd.

My mother i law just bought a ecosport and it came with 205/55r17s or was it 50s:unsure:, either way they are tiny and i suspect the main reason her 167hp feels peppy pushing 3350lbs around.

These base tunes aren't scrambling for traction, but my older tunes on the stock turbo sure were. I don't want to go lower profile, because the lower the profile, generally the harsher the ride. If I can find some good, more stick all seasons in the factory size, I'd rather take advantage of the loss in rotational mass, than the loss in diameter.

That being said, since I'm already shifting into 6th gear, the ideal thing to do would be to lower my tire diameter until it has me topped out in 6th gear when I cross the quarter mile. That would be taking full advantage of the gearing.

Sigh, and now you have me thinking again... But how ungodly would the Mav look with 26" tall tires!!!!!

Update! Reset my 1/4 mile record and on 93 octane! I LOVE this Corsair turbo! Still base 93 map, 12.66@107mph!

This is great stuff. Can you speak to the quality of the turbo swap now that you've driven it a bit more? More or less laggy? Does it pull harder to redline? Or, does it largely feel like the stock turbo, just with a bit more gusto?

I'm sure it spools a little slower, but they both spool so fast I can't tell a difference.

The Corsair turbo holds 18-19psi all the way to redline, where the stock turbo could only hold 14-16psi.

I'm hopingthe corsair turbo holds 22+ at redline, but I won't know intil my revisions come in and get better.

Small update. I haven't received my 93 updated tune yet, because there was an issue with the throttle plate closing, so now that that has been taken care of, I will get an upgraded 93 targeting more boost here soon. Was hoping for today, but I think it's too late for that.

On the E30 tune, I'm peaking in the 19psi range and holding 18-19psi, and on the V2 revision I am running 12.80's in full street trim, including the factory exhaust! I may do some full out runs later tonight, to see if I cantsee somr 12.40s!

Well, my update is probably the biggest update I've ever had.... the E30 loves, LOVES the open DP! I'm going to make a thread about it, but I'll tease it here telling you the 0-60 was a 4.02!😳

Haha, correct! I expected about .4 seconds better, because that's what the 93 octane tune did, but, with the E30, removing the exhaust gave me and extra 2psi across the board! It peaked 22psi, and then held 20psi. It probably peaked slightly higher than 22psi though, because I am seeing a flatline at 22.47psi, which leads me to believe the factory Map sensor is only a 2.5bar sensor, only capable of 22.5psi. This is BAD news, as I think there is more in this turbo, but I'd have to get everything rescaled to a larger MAP sensor.... damnit....

I just logged 3 passes. ZERO KNOCK!!!! Hell yeah! These three passes were 12.16, 12.22, and 12.15 all at 114mph. Lambda was .80-.82.
