The system on new vehicles will pull back timing at the first sign of knock. Ethanol isn't jist good because of the octane rating, its also good because it cools the cylinder charge as well. I'm not a know-it-all when it comes to how companies make their E blends, but I've ran E85 on almost all of my project cars, and gained 50-100whp on them.

The older carbed stuff hated ethanol, but that is probably more because of the carbed setup itself. No way of adjusting for the fuel used.

Correct. I just looked yesterday and saw only 2.0T's. The Corsair 2.3T is going to be a little hard to come by, as sales numbers of that vehicle are going to be a lot lower than Ford models. If they made a 2.3T version of the Ford Edge we would be WAY better off!
You could always look at the 2016-19 Ford Explorer with the 2.3L!

I haven't looked at them specifically, but I would imagine they are vacuum actuated wastegates, and not electronically controlled wastegates. I'm not saying that cannot be overcome, but I don't think anyone has done it yet.

That is a possibility, I didn't go that far into it!

EDIT: I just double checked, yes, they are vacuum

I think the first start of the EWA is on the 19 Ranger, and other 19 2.3L engines. But older were usually vacuum

QuikRik hit a stalling point. Literally. Smashed a deer last night! Just a little guy, maybe 60-70lbs.

Sigh......

Thank sucks man, sorry to hear. What was your impact speed? Almost seems like you got slowed decently, damage could have been worse.

I was still going 50-55, I was flat blindsided by it. Momma deer was on the other side of the road, so I was scanning back and forth, looked back in time to see eyes staring back at me.....

Believe it or not, the massive intercooler saved a lot of damage!

Make all the jokes you want, I'm always down foe a laugh, lol. It is what it is. I'll get it fixed, and back up in no time!

The dealership i took it to had another Maverick in for damage in the same area. Their bill was already $7200....

Well that sucks. I did the exact same amount of damage to a Beretta pizza delivery car once right after a clutch change. I ended up with a different color of red bumper and a white fender. Really though I think its time for a Cuban drag race Vin Diesel style. Go ahead and pull the bumper, hood, grille, lights, fenders, and anything with a wrinkle in it that doesnt make it run. You just might hit 11.99!

Hey now that I see it in your crash pic. I love the idea of a wide body fender that sticks out off the headlight like that gap there and is a faux or real brake cooling duct.

Woot!!!! Truck is back!!! Looks awesome! My bodyshop redid all of my excess work on the new stuff to fit my intercooler, painted my brackets, and have everything perfectly aligned!

So happy right now! Now if only I could afford new lightweight wheels and tires! Lol

Added note for the 3 runs above. They were all done on the exact same private road. Look how the slope changes. That's the only part of the dragy that isn't extremely accurate, although we are talking only a couple feet of elevation change, so maybe it's plenty accurate, lol.
