This has been one of the threads I've enjoyed so much. Very cool project and thanks for the R&D. I love the hot rodding aspect of this, not to many bolt on parts or kits available, so you borrow from the Ford product line, genius!
It blows me away that your little truck would spank my Foxbody that I've tinkered with for 25+ years, but she is still a fun ride.
I seriously think its the new fox body mixed with the 80s rangers. Wait till we see one with a rear locker and a lift that runs 12s!!!

As someone with an incoming Tremor, that's my eventual goal. 😉

Just make sure it's for the 2.3T, because they also come in a 2.0T which would be the same as ours.

If I could do it again, I would find one with the factory oil and water lines, as that would have saved a ton of headache, and truly made it a bolt on replacement!
Very important detail. I do think most of the turbos that I was seeing on eBay were for the 2.0T and not the 2.3T that would be an upgrade.

Correct. I just looked yesterday and saw only 2.0T's. The Corsair 2.3T is going to be a little hard to come by, as sales numbers of that vehicle are going to be a lot lower than Ford models. If they made a 2.3T version of the Ford Edge we would be WAY better off!

This is a pretty exciting thread! Can’t wait to see the results! Reminds me when I was trying to max out my old Accord LX into a type R using Civic type R parts. Didn’t get to fruition but it was fun build!

Small update: I ran some open downpipe runs on the 87 octane tune, since I know it datalogged great. Managed a 13.29@104mph. On 87 octane. That is all....

Well, first time at the track was a somewhat failure. I didn't run too bad, but the downpipe didn't seems to make the difference I thought it would. I really gotta get some data logs so I can get some revisions!

DA started over 2200', and tapered down to about 1700' I think. A far cry from the last couple weekends where it was negative DA.

Fastest pas was [email protected]. I ran 8 passes, a also ran my Dragy for each run as well. 60' were pretty decent, with a best of 1.944.

Number 1310 on the timeslips.

Only additional mod was a 3" downpipe.
I have a Dragy too, but never compared it to real life slips from the track. Very impressed with how accurate it is!

So, update! Ran my Base E30 run after doing a datalog to make sure WOT is safe, which it is.

Full exhaust, full weight, 13.02@107mph. This is with a terrible 2.17 60'!!!

That's all for now!

Nice. I wonder if people are overlooking that you're doing 0-60 in under 5 seconds? 😳

I've done 4.35 as my best. I'm hoping the new turbo will do 4.10's once the tune is ironed out.

That beats a C6 Corvette, Aston Martin Vantage, and 2015 Chrysler 300 SRT8 to 60mph!!!!

Here is a list of fast 4 bangers. Seriously Ford should put the Maverick on this list with what, a parts bin turbo, computer calibration, sportier exhaust, and a larger intercooler. Sounds like a $3000 (tremor esque) package to me. Sell a additional appearance package that uses lower springs(probably part bin escape units), a cab spoiler, the bed spoiler, and some stripes for another $1500. Hardcore enthusiast could then buy the Tremor/Badlands diff from Ford Racing.

Another small update. 5Star has been slow to respond for my revision on the E30, so I switched over to my 93oct perf tune, and as expected it runs pretty good for a base tune! Hits 18psi, and holds it to redline.

After a little driving and datalogging, I did a pull, and she runs pretty good! 13.19@103 with full factory exhaust and full weight. She will be a runner for sure when I can turn the wick up! Hopefully I can get QuickRik up to about 24psi or so. Should really put down some good numbers!

What do you consider "good numbers"?
Eventually, 12.40s or lower with 93 octane, and 12.20s or lower with E30. I don't really care about dyno numbers, strictly care about overall performance numbers.
