Lol. My dealer played stupid. Salesman, Sales manager, Finance manager even the General Manager said they never heard about price protection. They had a complete staff change 6 months before my truck arrived. Old staff was great. New guys were all imbeciles. Opened a case with Ford, and they said the dealer controls pricing, but they must submit price protection request. After about 6 times back and forth between the dealer and Ford, I gave up. The dealer is just a bunch of ASSHOLES and Ford doesn't care how they scam people. At least they took the Farm Bureau rebate off.

That stinks . Mine is on a train and I already checked with the dealer to make sure they will honor the private offer . They said they will give me $3400 off the hybrid xlt I ordered . I lucked out

2 different things. Private offer is when your truck was built as a model year newer than you ordered.

Price protection is when a price is raised between the order date, and the date built in the same model year.

Either way, glad to hear yours is on it's way!

It's called inflation. I get a kick out of everyone oohing and.ahhing when it's normal. I guess I could say that I'm glad I bought my '74 bronco for just under 4k because know it would be 60k.

Probably true, but it would be good to see some other source. XL must have lower profit per unit than the other models. One reason they are building fewer than the other models. Low base price gets you looking and hopefully you will buy a higher priced model..... Sort of bait and switch but not verbal....
Boy did I fool them. Ha ha ha.😁

My dealership said that "price protection" doesn't work when your order rolls over to a new model year. Which is absurd because why else would you need price protection??? Anyways, I called Ford and they said my dealership was wrong, but it's at their discretion what they want to charge me. After lots of back and forth my dealership decided they would honor the "private offer" I had which came close to the price I had agreed to pay a year and a half earlier. I've had my 24 XL hybrid for about 3 weeks now and I love it!

According to article on carsdirect 24 maverick XL price being raised by $415 by ford . base price now $25,410 . Price protection on order signed on or before 12/14/23 .
Glad I had x-plan and a 22 to 23 to a 24 roll over. Traded in my 23 ecoboost lariat and got a 24 hybrid lariat with a check back for $2,700. Great deal! 😀

Well, your 2022 will be worth less than a 2023 or 24 at trade in time, so there is that.
I doubt that, but keep in mind that the 2023 and 2024 were substantially more expensive to buy.

Many of us concluded that the 2022 Mavericks were loss leaders designed to generate buzz about the new model and little profit for Ford. These current price increases were entirely predictable. The Maverick is still a lot less $ than Honda and Toyota small hybrids.

When inflation is raging, depreciation is nearly nothing. I drove my 2004 Mustang GT convertible for 15 years. I traded it on my Maverick for $5K less than I paid for it. It had tan leather seats and a tan convertible top. Beautiful! You have not been able to buy a Mustang with tan leather seats for at least the past decade.

Depreciation may even be negative thanks to ever increasing regulation. I have tractors and a skid loader that are worth more than I paid for them decades ago. They were built before 2009 (?) and therefore don't have EPA tier 4 (?) pollution controls. This makes them much easier to operate and repair. This phenomenon is most apparent in "glider trucks" in which pre 2009 engines are installed in new truck chassis and command much higher prices than new trucks.

With current regulations, many ICE vehicles may hold their value very well indeed. Only time will tell.

Yeah, because all the old farts here paid cash for their Lariat Lux Edition Mavericks with their social security checks.
I paid "CASH" for Mine, but it was NOT with a SS check.. :p
Though when "I DO" get those checks! I will have added 45 years and 2 months worth of $$, to that Kitty.. ;)

If I change my options do I still get the price protection? I've been thinking about adding co-pilot 360 to my order but haven't done it yet.

One one hand, i wish i had ordered my truck when they were 20 grand. But i am still happy that i finally got mine after 15 months. XL Hybrid with hitch, drop in bedliner, floor trays and Co pilot 360. $25,300. My dealer was great to work with (other than the rip off $449 doc fee that every dealer in the state is charging). I just bought a service contract from Granger online.
