Isn't that pretty much what they are doing today by embossing the tailgate? At least with the stick on nameplates and such we could debadge the vehicle. With the Maverick name stamped/embossed you're sort of stuck.
Yes indeed and a good point - embossing is a real statement and unavoidable. The hot rod world is looking for a clean slate quite often and older trucks usually had embossed tailgates. If you dislike that now many after market suppliers offer a blank slate type tailgate.

The badge I am referring to is hard to describe and perhaps was more popular in my part of the country “back in the day”. I will try to find a photo example and share that. These items could be removed (usually barrel clips) and the holes filled but often the outline would leave a rust pattern or worse.... very ugly. I did have a new 1990 Chevrolet work truck with the name in letters made of vinyl type material, so that was very easy to remove. I used my wife’s hairdryer.😅

Back to the original question: no front plate states are fortunate as far as looks on a vehicle. Perhaps I am a bit envious 🙂😏.

A couple of examples unfortunately I can’t find a shot of one on a vehicle. That‘s quite a bit of metal that would become part of your trunk...... ✔
My uncle had it put in the contract that they would not install the dealers logo on his new Pontiac GTO in ‘66.
Smart fella.....

When I ordered mine from Kansas they asked if I wanted it installed.
My truck came to WA with out extra holes. But Wa requires a front plate im looking for alternative spot to put it where I don't have to "screw" up the front bumper.

Any ideas?
We don't have the screw type tow hooks

Platypus Grill Mount (cravenspeed.com) and I hope more grill mounts are available when I receive my Mav.

Back in the 70's dealers used to stamp their name into step bumpers.

Front license plate holders are typically installed by the "make ready" or "PDI" department. While telling your salesperson to not install one ( they should have no qualms about that legally) that doesn't always make it down the line to those installing them.
I would put a piece of masking tape on ordered units as soon as they arrived where the front plate brackets goes. Write "no bracket" on it.
So check with salesperson, and if possible talk with whomever does the make ready on new cars.

Florida doesn't require tags on the front, so it never dawned on me to ask (tell) them to not drill any holes. It's never happened on any car I've bought here. I did ask them to not put a decal of the dealership on. I don't feel the need to advertise for them since they're not paying for the service. They had no problem with that request. And thank goodness it seems no one uses the metal ones riveted to the vehicle anymore.

I'm gonna inform them I won't stand for their advertising logo on my Maverick either. They can give me a license plate holder (rear only) with their name on it, but that is all.....I will say please.
My dealer stopped putting dealer badges or license plate frames on vehicles over a decade ago. I guess they realized that most customers removed them anyway.

If you are using a CD in your state, or a dealer in your state, they will abide by state laws

if you are buying out of state and they are delivering rather than using a CD then they will abide by the most restrictive of the state laws between delivery and origin unless you tell them to abide by your state laws and are accepting delivery in your state. Note your DL must match the state in which you are asking them to abide by state laws of.

basically, wherever your taxes are going to are the laws they are going to follow (as well they should) still it’s a good idea to confirm.
I disagree, AT least in NJ which require a front plate more than half the Teslas don't have them. Maybe Teslas are "exempt".

Missouri requires a front plate, but mine is under the driver's seat. I haven't seen a Tesla with one either. If the police don't bother with the expired temporary tags I see each day I'm not worried about my "invisible" front plate.

I told my salesperson a couple times and texted to make sure it wasn't installed. I was buying in another state, so wasn't sure if they did this automatically or not.

This is how he let the prep people down the line know. Can't touch the plate without seeing that.

The dealer put the plate holder in the front just before I picked up the truck. ( expletive) I found some plastic hole plugs made for the aprox 4/16 offender holes drilled bellow the grill. I got the actual touch up color from a Auto Body supply place in town ( bottle of paint and a brush) for $15, as opposed to Ford having to order a touch up bottle (2-4 weeks they told me and $26. Painted the little plastic caps and installed them. Looks as good as possible.

My state doesn't require front license plate, do I simply ask my dealer to not poke holes and bolt the license frame on the front bumper, is that always going to be done at the dealership?
Get it in WRITING that you do NOT want the mount installed on the front and tell them if they do you are going to require them to order a new front bumper cover to install and replace it if they drilled into it.
