My state doesn't require front license plate, do I simply ask my dealer to not poke holes and bolt the license frame on the front bumper, is that always going to be done at the dealership?

Yes, the license bracket is shipped in the vehicle and is dealer installed. I’d flip out on someone if they screw into my bumper! Best to tell the sales staff before it arrives so a lot porter doesn‘t go rogue and do it on his own. Do a drive through the lot and if you see them and their dealer logos on the front of every vehicle, expect it to be their policy.

I just asked Tim to make sure it doesn’t have a front plate. The good thing is PA doesn’t require front plates either so I don’t think it’ll be an issue.

I'm gonna inform them I won't stand for their advertising logo on my Maverick either. They can give me a license plate holder (rear only) with their name on it, but that is all.....I will say please.

I'm sure that will make someone's day at your local dealer

I thought about that too. For the discount, I’ll live with a plate frame till I get home.

If you are using a CD in your state, or a dealer in your state, they will abide by state laws

if you are buying out of state and they are delivering rather than using a CD then they will abide by the most restrictive of the state laws between delivery and origin unless you tell them to abide by your state laws and are accepting delivery in your state. Note your DL must match the state in which you are asking them to abide by state laws of.

basically, wherever your taxes are going to are the laws they are going to follow (as well they should) still it’s a good idea to confirm.

I just asked Tim to make sure it doesn’t have a front plate.
Did that on my last special order. Was told it would come in soon, reminded them as it was really important to me. Came in, had all the stupid stickers all over it and drilled in front plate, and was told its policy and legally they HAVE to do it. Pointed out that not only did I remind them, I made them put it in writing, asked for my deposit and that I was walking. They ended up taking the bumper off another one coming in the same color but different options, and swapping it onto my vehicle, lol!

My state requires a front plate, but I've only gotten a warning once in near a decade of driving.

And don't let them give you the BS about how its the law, its not, there is no law that says they have to screw a front license plate holder onto your vehicle, and they certainly wouldn't have broken the law for me. You typically don't even drive off with license plates, and just get a temporary piece of paper that is taped to your rear window or where the license plate would go, so its comical that they pretend. The reason they do it is that most customers won't care and it lets them advertise their dealership for free.

In the email I received from Granger today regarding my build previewing, they mentioned that they will NOT be installing the license plate bracket or any dealership stickers upon delivery.

It's nice to know that considering here in Kansas we do not get a front license plate. I was going to bug them about it prior to delivery, sounds like I don't have to now; just wanted to pass it along.
Yours is delivery not CD though right?

I always tell them not to put anything on my vehicle identifying the dealer unless he is willing to offer me an advertising discount. Since no one has ever offered one, I haven't had to negotiate or scrape their crap off my vehicle. The plate ring goes in the trash when I arrive home from pickup from the dealer.

It's not delivery, it's Digiorno.

Sorry, yes, it's delivery :ROFLMAO:
Great a half baked floppy crusted response ;)

actually I now have celiac disease, I would kill for some gluten filled pizza, but it might kill me.

I am using a CD, so I have no idea if they will try and put a dealer I’d on the tailgate, what I do know is the tailgate will last 1 day with me tops because guess what the lift replaces, got it in one go.

Frightening reminder of my youth when I saw new vehicles with metal dealer scripted logos attached to the rear trunk or rear panel. They literally drilled holes in the new car/truck and screwed or riveted the emblem - logo onto your new ride.
Perhaps someone has a photo of this nightmare from the past... 🤡😡😂

Isn't that pretty much what they are doing today by embossing the tailgate? At least with the stick on nameplates and such we could debadge the vehicle. With the Maverick name stamped/embossed you're sort of stuck.
