I have been very interested in the Maverick ever since it was revealed. I had a range of emotions over 2 years of not being able to see one in person for the first year. Trying to order a couple of times and getting no where with that. Seeing crazy prices and dealers not wanting to let you drive it unless you said you would pay $10K over. No where near the frustration of those who actually had an order in though.

I had given up on wanting or getting one at one point, but my interest was renewed recently when my 2014 Nissan Rogue that had 213K miles (the most reliable trouble free car I have ever owned) on it was going to need an expensive catalytic converter to pass emissions, and needing brakes and tires in a 3-6 months I decided to put that money into something new. I went on the search for about a month and finally found a deal I could live with and here it is!

First drive to work got 47MPG... I'm sure it will drop when the new wears off and I drive more 'normal'. Overall really impressed with it for the first 24 hours of ownership. I have driven a couple of them before the purchase and knew the seat was not as comfortable as my Rogue, however that is my one complaint right now the seat bottom is a little to short and need to play with the adjustments a little more to find the right spot.

Congratulations on finally getting a Hybrid! You'll really like it, once you get all the features & annoyances figured out.

Find & use the EV Coach screen (on the instrument cluster display) to learn how to drive & get the most MPGs out of your Hybrid.
You'll find that running the heater will decrease your MPGs; although still excellent, compared to any other truck available in the US. Same for A/C too, but to a lesser extent than running heat, at least in my experience.

My lifetime (4k miles) calculated MPG is 40.0, so far. Worst trip per the truck estimates has been 31 mpg. Best has been 58 mpg.

So I’m a little slow sometimes 😜 but I finally discovered that you want to keep the graph out of the white completely when braking if possible. You will get a 100% return of energy every time if you do that. Love the coach and I think it is well done on the Maverick. I mentioned in another post how nice it would be as a HUD on windshield. 😊

Just keep it out of the white (ICE) rectangle as much as possible. Green (Charging) and blue (Electric) are where you want to be.
If You're in the blue rectangle and it's filling up towards the right side, let off the gas slightly and you will stay in the blue (Electric) mode a little longer. Exception if you're starting up an incline or need to increase speed.

So did I read between the lines you walked on a lot and bought one? I did too. It is possible.

Thanks. I am really liking it so far... I am actually more and more impressed by it as the few days of ownership go by. It just feels solid to me, and kind of amazed by it. I have had a couple of small trucks over the years and a small SUV for the last 10.... I have told people for several years if my small SUV just had a bed it would be perfect and that's what this is!

Getting the hang of the EV coach too.... my wife is being patient... she already thinks I drive like a grandma and this is making it worse. I'm only 140 miles in but every trip has been over 40 and several into the 50's. Can't wait to see what the first full tank ends up being.

Thanks for the welcome and response
