Pre-order Questions: Nova Scotia

Hi all, had a good conversation with a local dealer this morning and am happy to be able to get out for a test drive later this week (even though I’m already fully decided on ordering a Maverick). Will be getting an XLT with a 2.0 and AWD but was hoping to get some insight on a few things prior to putting my order in.
1. has anyone talked to a dealer in Canada recently regarding wait times? I was told 8 months for a 2.0,does that sound about right?
2. The lux package includes a drop in bed liner now, I had really been wanting a spray in liner thinking it would better protect the bed from corrosion due to road salt. I haven’t owned a truck since a 94 Mazda before spray in liners became a thing, does anyone have any experience to suggest a spray in liner (aftermarket if required) is worthwhile?
3. Tonneau covers, is there anything I should know before ordering with respect to a specific style being better or worse in the cold? I was planning on the Ford roll up cover but would consider any options including aftermarket.
4. I was quoted an interest rate of 2.99% for 5 years.I will shop around but is anyone doing better than that currently?

I'll answer with what I know.
1. Wait times... I ordered in June/early July, plain jane XL with a few options. At the time the dealer said Feb and I thought he was a bit off lol!. Still have not got a production date. As far as I know the 2022 order book is closed, so you will have to snag one from incoming dealer stock or maybe an order cancellation or be looking at a 2023 model when they open for next years orders around june/july.
2. I agree with the spray in liner over dropin, I ordered factory and am not changing it now. A lot of people like Line-X for an after delivery liner.
3. Each style of tonneau has advantages/disadvantages. For my purposes I got a Retrax Pro XR.... pricey, but it has T-slots for a low profile rack over the bed (for Kayaks), and does not block the rear window when retracted (Yes I'm collecting accessories while I wait....).
4. That sounds about right for interest rates via Ford right now. If you can lock in, sooner is probably better as rates are likely to rise over the next year

1. Order what you want and wait. Who knows the auto industry is a mess right now. Other option look for what you want or close in stock. (I would look for what you want out of dealer stock, the non hybrids are out there at dealers.)

2. You can always pull out the drop in and sell it. Then get spray in. (This is what I will do if LUX comes in with drop in. I like spray better. Aftermarket does good job if shop is good. Look at reviews.

3. Go with what you like.

4. Interest rate looks good. You can always look around that's free to do!

Called a couple more local dealers today and they seemed to be quoting a newly released Interest Rate from Ford, everyone was at 3.99%. New year new interest rate possibly? I also found a local dealer that has dealer stock on the way so I have options to skip the ordering process possibly in the future if they ever arrive although of all the Ford dealers in the area that'll be the last one I choose to deal with so I would have to get pretty desperate. Still lots of decisions up in the air but it sounds like at the very least I need to stick to my plan for a spray-in liner however I have to go about accomplishing that.

I can't answer all the questions but to summarize:
-agreed, spray in liner is better
-cover-wise, again it depends on your needs and how you're going to use it. I got the hard roll up because it doesn't block the rear window when fully open and I can have it open at different sizes too while all while having decent load capacity (i dont plan on sitting on it or anything tho)

My question to you is your interest rate of 2.99%. Did you get this via Ford Credit? Because on the website, they only offer 3.99% for 5 years.

Picked up my Maverick from dealer stock in a northern NB dealer - Vision. They were great to deal with and charged msrp which was great. So agree - try to find one coming that is close to what you are looking for.

I got the local Line-X dealer in Miramichi to do their top spray-in. They were amazing - and honestly the finish was better than factory.

Just make sure they spray the area from the top of the bed to the back window (factory spray in didn't include that little strip). 100% recommend this over the drop-in.

I got the Truxedo soft roll-up liner from Ford. And got them to install. They told me that if I ordered and had them install, I would get 3 yrs warranty instead of 1 year on it. If you want to do a hard tonneau, order now because you may have to wait a while.

Financing they were offering 2.9 for 6 years or 3.49 for 7when I got at the beginning of Dec - but rates must have changed since then.

Super unfortunate that the spray in liner is such an issue on the Mavericks considering how many people appear to prefer them. Thank you very much for the input everyone, my hope is that I can put the right order in on the first try and save myself the effort of making changes down the line.
