Anyone else? The system worked flawlessly for the first 3000 miles. And then stopped abruptly in the middle of a drive. Stopping the car and restarting restores functionality… Sometimes. Took it to the dealer and they “aligned the sensor“ and then it worked again until about 8000 miles It is very glitchy. Sometimes will start to work if I turn off cruise control and then reset. But it will stop after five or 10 minutes again. The dealer keeps telling me to wash my windshield. The car is showroom clean in all situations. To use cruise control then I have to go to settings and select normal. I drive a lot at highway speeds, and the system is going to kill me if it stops working.

the experts will correct me if wrong but I thought the radar box in the lower grill was for ACC.
don't know what the dealer was talking about, maybe he doesn't either.

OK, I was being dramatic. But When I expect the car to slow down when approaching a slower vehicle, I don’t need it to fail. When you use the system without any problems for several thousand miles, you come to depend on it, as well as lane guidance in heavy traffic. I drive 30,000 miles a year up and down I55 between Chicago and St. Louis. I drove my Fusion with ACC 150K miles and it never failed me unless I was driving in heavy snow or torrential rain.

overly dramatic I'd say, but hey at least you didn't write "my Maverick tried to kill me" in the thread title.
every time I've seen this fault (2020 Escape ice on radar box) the cruise simple shuts off and it coasts

The camera is small and is in a recessed pocket looking through windshield in the center about 3" below top of windshield. One freckle on windshield in right spot could obstruct view. Is there a rock chip or anything within an inch of that camera? Did you put a 5" eyebrow tint across top of windshield?, If so you will have to recalibrate camera or sensors even if windshield was replaced. 🤷

Truck is 3 months old. Not chipped. No bugs. It works and then it doesn’t work and then will work again. Glitchy and quits while driving on a clear empty road.

I had the very same issue pop up at 2,000 miles. After 5 weeks of in and out of Ford dealership repair assessments and work here is what I recall from the service rep - the work that was done: 1.) 4 business days of computer analysis and programming updates. The amount of time to do this work, created "crashes" they had to turn it over to a regional Ford Technical Advisor. After another 2-3 days of their assessment - it was decided to replace the front facing camera. 2 weeks later, after the new camera was received, schedule appt. and that task was completed. I was told they drive tested it and the issue was resolved. As I was driving it home - same issue popped up on my screen. 2.) Approx. 2 weeks later returned to the shop for work - 5 days later I was advised they needed to replace the windshield. I believe again, it was a Ford Tech that made the assessment. 3.) Approx. 2 weeks later returned to the shop windshield was replaced, test drives were completed and I picked up my truck - AGAIN the warning popped up! {Side story, the very first time I suggested that they consider testing and a review of the front radar plate (lack of better tech term), to which they responded it had been tested and proven functional. Bottom line, in fact it was not working correctly - when the truck was traveling down the road. More than likely they tested it in a static "in place" mode. It was discovered that the bracket holding the plate was vibrating and the cause for the errors.

I have had the truck now, operational and performing well ever since... added another 2-300 miles maybe, as I do not drive it much. (It is for sale - I am keeping my Hyundai Santa Cruz).

I like the dealership that did all of the work (Jarrett Scott Ford, Plant City FL) - as for the Ford Tech advisor - I suppose the person did the best they could.

mine did the same thing yesterday while driving in rain through the mountains near Asheville….stop at rest area and checked bumper sensor and windshield for blockages and found nothing….got back on road and it’s worked so far….vehicle has less than 1000 miles…23 hybrid…..don’t think you’re being overdramatic….when you depend so much on cruise control without it you’ll look down and be going 85 and then again be going 65….3rd world problems I know but I paid for that option to work all the time!
