PPF Paint Protection Film ?

Hello,
I’m shopping for paint protection film for my Maverick - mini bra - front bumper and leading edge of hood. Dealer quoted $1,500 for XPel. Seems outrageous, but I’d like to know what’s reasonable and who to call. Also, I’d there a big difference between 3M and XPel, and is XPel worth the extra cost. I’m also interested in DIY if I can find pre-cut for the Maverick.

Call an independent tinting company, I have had good results with Premier Auto trends in robinsdale(Google them) but that was pre covid so I don't know what current prices are at.

They post discount coupons on Facebook and Instagram quite often so look for them there.

Looking myself to have the front bumper done , will probably go back to my local tint guy , he did my Blazer it was $250 in expel wrap. But that was a pre cut ...and seen non available yet. Had my motorcycle done at a different place they can do it I'm sure bit will probably custom cut it like my motorcycle

I definitely want this on my next vehicle. The front bumper and hood of my Chevy Cruze with 170k are just wrecked from road debris.

$1500 for the full hood/fenders and bumper is about average if not on the low side. I've got several different software programs and most don't have the patterns for the Maverick yet. I'll be covering mine when it gets in with Suntek's new ReactionPPF.

Putting film on windshields isn't legal in my state. I have tried it on my personal ride but took it off after a few days due to the distortion. There are films out there specifically for windshields but they need replaced often (dirty wipers will scratch it) and will cost almost as much as new glass unless you have a $6000 Lamborghini windshield to protect. Even then its only going to help with sandblasted and light pitting. If a rock hits it hard enough, its still gonna crack.

Here's a link to the Ranger kit, the Maverick isn't listed yet but prices will be similar. I don't know where you got the $300 figure from but just to buy the Ranger kit precut film from Xpel and install it yourself will cost over $1700

That price is much more than the mini bra. And this website is not for the DIY.

The easy box access from the sides will result in lots of scratches caused by zippers and belt buckles….that area needs a film

Im looking for patterns (would like to get a link.......) for my Maverick too. Im considering putting a paint protective film on myself. A company I use for vinyl signs ( Fellers) sells Avery Dennison paint protective film (8mil- SPF1000- $3.83 sq ft). They sell other films as well such as a 3M window film. Not as difficult as you may think to install using a liquid floating technique.
