I care because I expect the hyper flash to truthfully disclose when a problem is actually happening or not happening. Yes Ford should not have let it happen but since it did I definitely want them to correct it.
Yep, i understand that, i guess to clarify my statement, for many years i frequently check my lights and signals, start it up, check brake lights, turn signals in the garage. I can see if there working or not by looking at the wall in front of the vehicle and the garage door at the rear. As long as they are working, i couldn't care less on the recall. When they fail, I will take it to the dealer for the update.

Just had three recalls done today, 24c01, 23c41 & 23e09. About an hour after leaving dealer lost power, barely got to a place to pull off highway. Shift knob was flashing, warnings started flashing, hill start assist not available, service soon, pre collision assist not available, service advance Trac, and parking brake applied automatically. Called the dealer and they were perplexed. After about 5 minutes & turning ignition on & off I got power back. A '23 XLT Hybrid, 1 year old, 7500 miles. Maybe best not to do recalls !! I see others on here with the same outcome after recall fixes. I had told service guy how much I liked my Maverick but noticed in this forum quite a few complaints. He replied if you get a good one they are great but are plenty that aren't so great. After waiting almost 2 years and now this..... Come on Ford, don't tell us to get a recall when it makes matters worse & potentially dangerous. Check engine light still on but was not able to pull any codes, leading me to believe will go out on its own, but will this continue to happen ??

Hello! I just had RECALLS completed on 02/23/2024 : 24C01 & 23C41 and drove car on 02/25/2024 at 75mph speed (in Texas) and within 1 hour of driving the vehicle began flashing same issue mentioned and brought speed down to MAX 35mph with NO FOOT on pedal. Almost got hit by 18 wheeler! Took it to dealer and 300 miles plus they drove and could not replicate issue. Gave vehicle back and it happened again 03/09/2024 at 70mph ...

Definitely believe it was the update that caused the issue. Extremely dangerous and SCARY too say the least to have the vehicle stop at such high speeds and have almost no control.

Hi there. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

OP, any updates? Did you get it resolved?
Maverick still at dealership, no word yet. Dealership said they were waiting to see if "Ford" had a fix. Will post any new news or info. Thanks

Same thing happened to me. They cleared and reset everything and has been fine since.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I want to document what happened to me, as well as my complaint to NHTSA, so here goes:
I experienced the same total loss of power, etc. that so many other Maverick Hybrid owners have experienced.
Took my truck to Ford dealer on 3/7/24 for two separate recalls, Emission Recall 23E09 and Compliance Recall Notice NHTSA 23V848 where the BCM and PCM were reprogramed and updated. The vehicle operated normally before the dealership service for the recalls.
On 3/18/24 after the recall service was performed, while driving along a state route at speed limit of 55, the vehicle suddenly lost power and displayed the following indications on dashboard: Service Engine Soon, Pre-Collision Assist not available, and Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced power. The vehicle was able to be pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was able to be restarted but at a significant loss of power with the same warning lights displayed. The emergency brake was also set and took me a little time to figure out. Safety was compromised as the vehicle lost power and speed and could only be operated a short distance. Thankfully other vehicles were able to avoid me at my significantly diminished speed and I was able to turn on warning flashers and pull to the side of the road no faster than 10mph. I shut it down and waited to be towed to Bronde's Ford in Maumee, OH, who had the truck for 3 days, where they confirmed with their scan tools the warning lights had come on and had loss of power when the incident happened, but were not able to reproduce the symptoms. Technician noted there were no SSMS or TSBS from Ford or otherwise for these concerns and was given back to me at no charge. Incident happened on March 18th, 2024. I think that all they did was to clear the fault codes from the systems. Interesting to note that at the same time that the Ford dealer had my truck, there was another Maverick Hybrid with the same symptoms as mine. They also told him the same song and dance.
I sent this same info to NHTSA. To date I have not heard anything from NHTSA or FORD.
I am reluctant to drive the truck for long distances, or other than county roads for fear of being stranded. I will NOT allow my wife to drive it at all.
I don't want any of us to become a statistic! If there is a fix, we should have that information. Right now I feel like no one at Ford is taking this situation seriously.

Well, it happened AGAIN today (4/13/24), The messages; Service Engine Soon, Pre-Collision Assist not available, and Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced power lit up as the truck rolled to a stop. No accelerator response.
I read in the Maverick Truck Club of a 'work-around' that if you turn off Ignition, wait until all lights go out on the dash and re-try the start, it should go. It WORKED!! I made a U turn and headed home just like nothing had happened. Crazy.
Unfortunately now I have even less confidence in my nearly new Maverick. I have looked on other websites regarding this phenomenon, and there are literally hundreds of people with this same problem.
Hey FORD, HELP!!!

Not really. Got a call from the Ford dealer today. Says that they want to go over the recall update point by point to see if they can find something that doesn't match. Said that they have another Mav in the shop with the same symptoms and they think they might have found something on that one.
I told him that I will bring it in and they can keep it for as long as it takes as I am not currently driving it.

This is pretty bad, sounds like I better avoid these updates and maybe by the time the new massive 450k vehicle recall comes through they will have this resolved and can tackle it all. Then a few days later my truck can blow up 😂

Hey FORD, HELP!!!

When did they last update your PCM?

I am not a technician...but work at a Ford dealership. I have looked through some of the tech hotline reports about this issues. It looks like Ford had a new PCM software update around March 22nd. Field Service Engineers recommended updating PCM w/ new update. For other people with similar issues, it looks like the new PCM update has resolved the problem.

I haven't noticed anyone who has had PCM updated after March 22nd who has had this issue.

Check with your dealer about the last time your PCM was updated. And or tell them to look at the hotline reports or to contact their FSE.

On a 'possibly' bit of good news. I am posting a news article in FOX news this morning. I cannot comment further than what I have here, but it does look promising.

Ford recalls over 450,000 vehicles due to loss of drive power

Ford has issued a recall for Bronco Sport SUVs and Maverick compact pickup trucks made between 2022-2024

By Chris Pandolfo FOX Business

Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 450,000 compact SUVs and pickup trucks over loss of drive power because of a battery issue.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall in a notice Wednesday, which affects 2022-2024 model year Bronco Sport SUVs and Maverick compact pickup trucks manufactured between 2022-2023.

An undetected low battery charge could lead to some electrical accessories such as hazard lights not functioning properly or cause a loss of drive power in affected vehicles, according to the NHTSA. The issue affects 456,565 vehicles.

Dealers will recalibrate the body control and powertrain control modules to fix the issue for free, the recall notice said.

"We are committed to ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our customers," Ford said in a statement. "Affected owners will receive a notification to have their vehicle software updated at no cost. Customers can use mobile service and pick-up and delivery to complete this recall."

Owners will be contacted by Ford with a recall notice via mail sometime this month.
