Possible fog light solution.

Saw these the other day. Solves some of the adjustment issues and also mounting. But only downfall is the left to right adjustment. Still need to find a better mounting solution.

It would be nice if some accessories manufactor would create a front brush guard with floodlight mounts that would mount under the fx4 tow hooks bolts . just saying .

I have been looking at the ones that came on the 2020-2021 Telluride wondering how they would look. They have what appears to be flush mounting brackets just requiring maybe just cutting a hole for them to shine through the bumper. I think they go along with the headlight on the Maverick.

it is I think because DEPO has yet to offer a replacement for them yet. I believe one the aftermarket start making DOT replacements they will fall in price

Plus it is made for a specific vehicle. Makes it more valuable if you need a direct replacement. It this case, it's custom work either way.

The fogs are actually SAE compliant from all the info on them. Just not too sure about the dimensions especially for the FX4. Had messaged them to get some better information. They have a single pod one also kind of like the S1 but don't think there's any way to flush mount it.
Anything installed on that outer section is going to need some sort of spacer or bracket made for the outside angle.
Have been looking around in hopes someone has figured it out by now.

SAE is related to quality in manufacturing, DOT means legal to use on all US roads and highways. DOT is the mark you need for Forward lighting.

That's actually not entirely true.

Aside from commercial vehicles, there's no real Federal guidelines (DOT) for fog lights.
It's a decision that's left up to individual states...and most adopted SAE as their standard.
The Federal guidelines for commercial vehicle fog lights actually recognize the SAE as their standard as well.

So in many (not all) cases DOT=SAE or vice versa.

Per DOT:
Auxiliary driving lamps and front fog lamps. Commercial motor vehicles may be equipped with auxiliary driving lamps and/or front fog lamps for use in conjunction with, but not in lieu of the required head lamps. Auxiliary driving lamps shall meet SAE Standard J581 Auxiliary Upper Beam Lamps, July 2004, and front fog lamps shall meet SAE Standard J583 Front Fog Lamp, August 2004. (See § 393.7 for information on the incorporation by reference and availability of these documents.)
