It's going to be a long time until I get my Maverick, but I may've just found a simple solution to adding fog lights to it. Maxxima M50412 grommets with DOT approved par 36 led lights. These are the same lights sold as upgrades for the driving lights on full dresser HD bikes. I think the angle is about perfect in the grommet,, but I won't know until I get mine. At least I already have the lights and grommets on the shelf.

Great idea. I found the Maxxima M50412 grommet no problem but not having much luck finding the LED lights. Any more information that you can provide on the lights?

These were designed to fit Maxxima's MWL-11 light which is more of a flood beam. The ones I have have a very sharp cut off line so they won't blind oncoming drivers. You can find them online by searching for Harley road king driving lights. Very important to make sure they are the correct beam (DOT) type so the are safe to use. I have one extra set if you can't find them.

Update. I received a set on the grommets and lights yesterday from Amazon. Sadly I will be returning them. The grommets are larger than the flat area where they would be mounted. The lights were not at all impressive for brightness. I am not sure that the mounting process would provide a ridged light that would not be shaking while driving. All in all, the idea that I hoped had potential has not worked out. Still looking for a good alternative for fog lights. The best option I have found so far are the following dual color flat beam lights. The only issue is the mounting angle on the curved area on the burmper.

You could shim it. 3D print something.
Yes, a 3D printed mount is an option. It would be best to recess it in rather than shimming it out further. Recessing it in does require more R&D but would look and function much better.

It would be handy if someone could get a 3D scan of the bumper to work off of including the 'cutout' and a bit of the front face to reference as perpendicular. I suppose I could try with my phone, although IIRC iPhones have some better geometry scanning hardware/tricks?

I took some quick pictures of why I am returning these lights and grommets.

Yep, a bit large. I'll come up with another plan before I get mine. Can you measure the flat area?

I remember when I had a Explorer Sport Trac there ended being a kit for the fog lights. Someone will make it eventually. If there are ever enuff Mav's on the road to warrant it.

Yea, that would be a much larger gamble than the 50.00 for the previous lights and grommets that did not work. Not bad if they can be returned but if you got stuck with them that would not be good.
