Please help!

Hi everyone,
My husband ordered his Ford Maverick hybrid on 10/4/2021. Back then, he was healthy and excited to get his truck. To this day (09/2023), he is still waiting for his truck. The problem is that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. He doesn't have the time to wait 6 more months for his truck to arrive; all he wants to do before things get worse is to drive his new truck! We had been explaining this situation to the Ford dealer but the answer we get is that there is nothing they can do. Can anyone please give us some advice! I don't want my husband to go before enjoying his dream. Please help!

Ford can't get the unit made any faster. Your best bet would be to buy one off a lot or barrow one somewhere

It sucks but that truly is your best bet.
You could also try calling every single dealer asking if any of them get a Mav then ends up for sale to give you a call ASAP.

Perhaps leverage any bond you already have with your current dealer and see if they can reach out to other local dealers on your behalf.

If I have that correct your coming up on a 730 day wait? Do you have a VIN #, window sticker or a confirmation from the Ford Tracker? I feel genuinely bad for your situation as I personally know of those who have reached a place in life where some joy is around the corner only to have their lives shortened but the Maverick is a thing. In the scheme of the universe, a higher power or emptiness if you prefer, it is still a material thing. That being said do you have financing arranged? A large down payment?

I would either do without or buy from existing stock if the need or want is great.

Can I ask who your dealership is and what exactly their answer is to a 700+ day wait? Do they even indicate if you still have an order?

730 days!? I didn't think any 2021 orders were still outstanding. More than likely the dealer screwed up your order. Hopefully the Ford representative that lurks here will look into what's going on.

Sedano Ford in La Mesa has a 23 XLT hybrid for sale on their lot. Maybe they can do something for you. If you buy one on "the Lot" he can be driving a Maverick in a few days.

@Desperate , unfortunately I cannot help you get your husband's truck any sooner. What about renting one through Turo or Uhaul?

Sedano Ford in La Mesa has a 23 XLT hybrid for sale on their lot. Maybe they can do something for you. If you buy one on "the Lot" he can be driving a Maverick in a few days.

Buy this one (or any one) you can find on a lot, and to get it at MSRP explain your situation and promise the dealer they can have your ordered one when it finally arrives. Then the dealer can mark-up your ordered one or do whatever they want.

The dealer can't get things processed any faster, trust me I've tried on a similar situation for a Bronco customer that has cancer. The only thing to do it maybe write a letter to the Jim Farley or Elana Ford at Headquarters. Sometimes they like see what they can do. At this point they won't be able to get another 2023 pushed in line because they have balanced out the model for the year. The only thing they could do it get their 2024 order in for October production. So late November delivery.

There are used Mavericks--many only slightly used--availble through Carmax.com and Cargurus.com. You may be faced with inflated prices due to the market although prices seem to be coming down lately. I was watching for something while waiting to place my order for a 24 and wasn't willing to pay $40 to 45,000 for one, but now I'm seeing some in the $35,000 range. Go online and check. Good luck.
