Aint nobody got a 20k truck my friend- Base XL is 21,490 without a single option- And F that- At least get C360 package and tow hitch - $22, 440 - Boom- Some folks need AWD/FX4/Lariat + Lux- and that point not "cheap truck omg" but still a value compared to equivalents - Many don't want no Mid-size bloat- The added conveniences/option package of Lariat vs XL is worth $8k to some, its a huge step up- I get it
The only reason I bought my Maverick was Ford was the only manufacture offering a 20K base price compact truck that got better fuel mileage than the Honda Civic Si that I was driving. If I wanted luxury, the Maverick would not have been a consideration. To each there own but I bought what I was looking for and did not expect more than it was.

What defines "Luxury" in your opinion ? Lariat/Lux is perfect for us- Dash plastic maybe not so much but lots of value add long term -A piano black interior can be had by anyone looking @ SC- That's not us but some folks geek out on HVAC controls buried in Infotainment menus :)

Funny, I was not the one complaining how cheaply made with plastic the Maverick is. When you buy Ford's least expensive vehicle, no surprise that is what you get.

Yea no one is saying the Lariat Lux is a legit luxury car. What they are saying is that it provides a lot of value for the money and atleast has some charm and sophistication albeit plastic-y as hell.

…on a pig?
That is the saying.....
I don't have a problem with the XL Maverick that I ordered since it is more than I expected from Ford's modern day version of the Escort (with a bed). It is still better optioned than alot of the base economy cars that I have seen.

Let me know if they fit fine on your Mav. I may swap the ones I ordered for these ones
Just getting ready to ask the same question!

Agree - The level of omg "luxury" on this site. Ford calls this stuff luxury I would call it very functional optioned high level convenience trim - Hard to keep banging head against wall with these types -

I’m glad of the Lux buyers. They keep Ford profitable. They probably even subsided my XL to some extent. It was a stretch for Ford to hit the $20k mark, but most people can’t resist the packages, so there’s quite a bit of “make-up money” in most model lines. Thank you, lux buyers.

Yes- I got the option Heroin like someone posted months ago - With that being said I still think an XL with CP360/Hitch only + steelies is hot :)

I don't even look at the bigger trucks as luxury. Just really really nice. I know alot of people here are coming from different makes or styles so expectations are all over the board. I try to take it all with a grain of salt.

I ordered some as well. I figured it could preserve the oem pedal. My biggest grip with covers is them slipping off/not being secure. But if these are a PITA to put on, moat likely they will stay on tight.
So far mine have stayed on without any slippage..that was a concern of mine as well.
