I was cleaning the area around my hitch the other day, getting ready to put on the Mabett bumper hitch cover, and I noticed a warning sticker on the top of the hitch -

It was put on pretty shoddy, off center, so I peeled it off, cleaned the top of the hitch and moved on. Earlier today, while looking up some other parts, I looked it up on the Ford Parts website to see what a replacement sticker/decal would cost.

$39.50 !!!

This thing is about 1 3/4" wide and maybe an inch high, so that's some expensive real estate.
You've probably seen it on the top of your hitch, and never thought about it, but if you like it on there, hope it doesn't ever come loose. Even worse, a gang of sticker thieves might steal it and resell it on Craigslist.

🤓 How would Ford ever find out? What does it mean?

Don't forget the blue painters tape on the hitch cover before you try to install it.
No tape = scuffs

39.50 may seem like a lot until you consider the R&D, graphic design, capitalization and legal department costs involved. Quite a bargain for providing such important (and yet unknown) functionality!

Beware, those who remove such stickers are likely to end up in the same maximum security prison where they send the miscreants who cut the labels off of mattresses!

As long as you bought the mattress, you're clear. It says it's unlawful to remove EXCEPT BY THE CONSUMER.

Yes, BUT I just bought a mattress, and the salesperson mentioned Do not remove the tag during trial period of 90 days. They would not take it back if it was gone.

Don't laugh at that sticker decal ! The manual link indicates that the added weight of the trailer hitch lowers the rear end, thus allowing the muffler bearings to drag on the ground over speed bumps. The results may well be more Mavericks joining the "Totaled after rear end collision/failure" list. Happy April, amigos!

Yuck. Who would want to buy a mattress that had been used for 89 days?
