You can always paint the wheels while they are still on the car. I did this with my brothers rusted Mazda 3 wheels a few years back. Simply wash and wax your car beforehand in case any over spray sneaks out and then stick plastic grocery bags through the holes in the wheels to protect the brakes/calipers. Once the wheels are sanded and clean, you then mask off the tires, lug nuts, valve stem and as much of your car as you want and then have at it.Looks great!
I can live without cruise control, but I can't live with the plain steelies. Based on this, seriously considering changing my carbonized gray hybrid XLT order to a barebones Hybrid XL.
Awkward: I don't have a garage and I street park (more reason to buy cheap!!!). So I have no space to safely jack up the truck and take the wheels off for painting. Would a shop be able to do that without charging an arm and a leg? I'd probably spring for powder coating. Or maybe just order a set of the black steelies someone linked.......
That's what I'm planning to do with my wheels when my hybrid eventually comes in.
