So the Maverick LOBO has SST M MODE enabled in the IPC. Every other 2022-2025 Maverick has S Mode enabled instead.

This setting does not change Low to Manual mode though.. I don’t think manual mode will be achieved by coding alone. I have a hunch that there is a difference in hardware, wiring, or transmission calibration that achieves manual mode. I do not think Forscan coding alone can achieve manual mode.

if we can get our hands on some wiring schematics and info about the 2025 LOBO’s PCM, GSM and transmission calibration. I think it’s possible to achieve manual mode. I would love if COBB came out with a TCM tune to use manual mode and skip second or third gear, similar to how the LOBO is set up.

Swaping out the gear selector doesn't do nothing . Even having a Manual instrument cluster. It's all a pcm programing thing schematics are the same as the one I uploaded here .

good work. I just installed my ST wheel with paddle shifters and I am looking into the 2025 Maverick LOBO vs other 2025 Mavericks codings because the LOBO comes with the M button on the dial shifter because it has paddle shifters. The non-lobo 2025 Mavericks still come with the L button on the dial shifter. I believe the codings are in the PCM, BCM and IPC. I will work on comparing and narrowing it down when I get some free time.
From what I've found the coding are in the GSM itself, which FORScan doesn't have access to for some reason. I tried to swap out the shifter from the LOBO, but the pins are different. 22-24 shifters have a 18 pin connector, the 25's have a smaller 22 pin connector.

This won't make an difference bro it's an as built data that you need to do. The button it's just a button.

I swapped in the entire PCM coding from a 2025 LOBO maverick into my 2024 maverick Xl and there still was no manual mode. With the info and picture you provided, I think the wiring to and from the GSM must be different somehow compared to the regular maverick.

I’m going to try to recode my AWD module with LOBO coding and if that doesn’t work to enable manual mode then I don’t think any coding alone will achieve manual mode.

Over on the mustang forums, they have added paddle shifters and just making the SST change in the PCM changed L mode to M mode. This leads me to believe that there is some sort of wiring or hardware difference in our mavericks.

I’m curious if swapping in paddle shifters and making the coding changes on a 2025 maverick non lobo would make manual mode work compared to a 2022-2024 maverick non lobo.

I’ve compared the codings over and over again and tried many coding changes in almost every module there really isn’t much else I can find. Seems to be a wiring or hardware difference

@Vtec87pr1 is doing or has done something similar --I assume you've read at least some of this very long build thread. maybe he can offer some diagrams or advice here.

So Cobb says manual mode is possible with a pro tuner. Those of us who have a Cobb accessory should try to find a tuner that is able to do this. I will contact Cobb support and see if they can push an update where we could just turn manual mode on and I’ll ask to see which tuners can do this for us. @COBB Tuning

This is huge news! I would love to have a manual mode button somewhere with these paddles pairing with my exhaust! I can’t stand when my trans auto shifts when I’m on a nice sounding rip. My issue would be that I have a SCT device and that may not be compatible with ProTuner. Something I would need to look into. On a side note, I wonder if they are able to code the paddles to shift from 1st and go straight to 3rd like the Maverick Lobo works. My understanding is that the Lobo has the same 8F35 trans that we may have but is “skipping” 2nd gear.

Cobb stated it will be a while. The lobo ecu is encrypted.

After asking Cobb and multiple pro tuners, no one I’ve talked about is able to enable manual mode on the 2022-2024 maverick ecoboost.

I’ve looked into some information about the Mk4 2021-2022 Ford Focus ST line and ST model and they both have paddle shifters and manual mode and they share a lot of the same components as the maverick. Hoping I can find some information about manual mode through that.
