The temperature here in NW Arizona has dropped from 118° to 108° in the last few days and the milage on the hybrid improved be over 6%. 30 to 32 MPG.
Looking forward to October when temps should be down to more reasonable figures and milage should be back up to the 40 to 50 MPG range!

to what do you attribute the mpg drop? Is the battery charging limited due to high heat? We have been seeing quite a few 100+ days in Fresno, and mpg (with some AC) stable at about 42, mostly country roads and freeway.

I ran my AC here in N. Calif (a rare occurrence) and it was striking how much more my engine ran.

I was getting around 23mpg combined from January to March-ish, since then getting about 25 combined. Winter blend + cold really kills the mileage.

Hmm... You might need to define "live". But also it's generally the same thing people in colder climates do during winter - stay indoors as much as possible. ;)
Exactly, walk the dog at dawn when it's only 95° then hibernate in the AC 🥵 .

I think the fact that the AC has to cool the battery as well as the cab.

One big MPG drop is the electric air conditioner used to cool the cabin & the HV battery. This causes the ICE (gasoline engine) to run more to charge the battery that the A/C runs off of. In winter, MPG also takes a hit if you run the heat because the heat comes from the ICE.

You don't need a stove you cook your meals on the blacktop. Couldn't live their, heard their was 29 days over 110. Us old people can't handle that kind of heat.

The compensation is the Winters, 70 - 80° daytime temps and even if it gets a bit chilly in the morning you still have that bright Arizona light:D.
For years we headed to Wales UK for the Summer and complained about the rain but the wife's medical condition means we can't travel so we are stuck here complaining about the heat.

I have the opposite problem. In the the summer, I get 22-23 mpg in town. In the winter, I get 18-19 mpg (winter blend gas is part of the problem...).
