Did anyone put in MY23 orders with multiple dealerships in hopes to have better odds of getting the Maverick?

I'm strongly thinking about doing it for the MY24. Is this something that Ford may catch and/or backfire on me if I go this route?

probably end up costing some people getting a Maverick order and dealers getting rejected orders for ADM stock.

I don't like that people doing this may cost others just wanting one damn Mav, but Ford has basically created this potential. I think for 2024 you're gonna see a TON of people ordering from several dealerships, just to hedge their bets, hope to actually get ONE Maverick. Unless Ford puts something in place to stop it, and I cannot imagine them doing so. They could stop it right this second -- they have the ability to look into their system right now and see who has multiples at different dealerships. They choose not to.

Ford has no reason to care. They build a truck that gets sold either way. It's up to the dealers to make policy to handle it (like charging a deposit). Dealers have no reason to stop it because the more orders the better.

It hurts other buyers only, and is selfish IMO. But it is what it is.

You people crack me up. If you really want a Maverick and you've been paying attention for any length of time to how Ford operates you would be dumb NOT to order multiple trucks IMO.

There is no rationality, fairness or logic to Ford's system. I can't understand why you think fellow customers should feel guilty about having multiple orders when Ford doesn't give a crap that people who ordered in 2021 still aren't scheduled for production.

At this point, you just have to do what you have to if you want to get your hands on a Maverick.

The first dealership I ordered from told me to also put an order in elsewhere, since they had over 300 mav orders.

I understand Ford's system. It's not rocket science. Not liking the system and not understanding the system are two different things.

I placed two separate orders (1 hybrid, 1 EB), from the two largest dealers in my area (NE FL) on the day the order banks opened last Sept. Both base XLTs. I have yet to be scheduled for either.

When my 10/13/21 Mav XLT hybrid received a VIN and multiple delayed build dates and then was cancelled I decided to put in orders at 2 more dealers. Long MacArthur and a local dealer where my cousin had been the finance person. My original dealer didn't seem to be on top of things which is why I did it. I was not confident my '22 order would be rolled over. I was upfront with Tim at Long MacArthur and the sales person at my local dealership. They both understood and were great in the process. My 22/23 roll over finally did get built 2/8/23. I cancelled both orders. I know Long MacArthur did cancel. I think the local dealership kept the order. I've been checking with Ford chat and it is still "unscheduled clean". Yes, I feel bad about doing multiple orders but we all know the problems Ford has had getting the orders built.

Welcome to Murica, where the only rule is competition. Fail to engage at your own peril, fairness does not exist. 🤷‍♂️

Not only customers, but dealers will have friends and family order hybrids. ADMs will continue well into next year.
