If you don't hear from me next week it's because my wife found out and killed me.
Ordered up some parts:
Kicker KXA800.5 amp https://www.bestbuy.com/site/kicker...able-crossovers-black/5913902.p?skuId=5913902
JL Audio 10" sub (gonna try to stuff it behind the seats, might go under the seat if needed) https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13610TW3/JL-Audio-10TW3-D4.html
Infinity Primus speakers for the front https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108P6510CM/Infinity-Primus-PR6510CS.html?tp=105
Infinity Reference for the backs https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R6432CM/Infinity-Reference-REF-6432cfx.html?tp=105

I'm going to see how the signal processor that is built in to the amp works out, hopefully well enough that I don't need a stand alone. Anything will be better than the factory speakers for sure, hoping the sub will fill in nicely, I've missed having a good system (been 20 years or so).

Using a custom plate for the 4x6? Will they fit?

4x6 was my question as well. Pretty sure those are 4 inch in the rear.

Will be a nice set up.

Hmmm... I picked up on the 4x6 from another post on here, I guess I should have looked before ordering. I guess I'll have to see if I can stuff them in there.

I love how many Maverick owners seem to be putting in a system (or just overall Audio upgrades) that haven’t had or out a nice system in a vehicle for 20 years…. Seems Ford really nailed the whole DIY vehicle concept

following! Looking forward to seeing how it turns out

after playing around back there with the 8ā€ kicker hideaway that I’m putting in this weekend, I think you’ll be able to craft something behind the seat for one of these JLs…. After putting my components in today and seeing posts like these I’m so tempted to move the jack and build a custom box that goes all the way across with 2 of these behind the seat (and forego my mild ā€œgood stock systemā€ upgrade I’m in process of

good luck!

The 4x6s will need to be retrofitted, but they’ll work
4ā€ are the actual stock speaker size (you’ll still likely need some sort of adaptor or stock fitting retrograde because of the way they mount directly into the plastic/c column

I'll be pulling the jack out for sure, I already put a bottle jack in the back, scissor jacks are terrible. I would love it if I could stick 2 subs in there, but I doubt there will actually be room.

All my parts are here, some speakers are in, didn't take many pics but I did snap a few pics of the 4x6's and the 1/2" MDF I used to make them fit, had to cut off the plastic ring for the 4" stock speakers. I used blue paint on the studs to mark where I needed to drill for the screws to hold the 4x6's. I thought I had some different screws but I couldn't find them so I just used the wood screws and they grabbed well.

Got the signal wiring run, not sure where I am mounting the amp yet, probably behind the back seat passenger side. The sub is problematic, I won't be able to get it behind the rear seat in the box size it needs, under the back seat might be too small too. I decided to concentrate on upgrading all the speakers and then I'll get the amp set up and sub will be last.

Well i took the easy path with the tweeters, they weren't drop in replacements and I spent all of 2 minutes seeing if I could put them in the factory mounts before just deciding to do this. I like it better anyways.

I just installed a big RF 12inch Punch sub with a RF 500.1 Punch Amp in my Civic last year. It is nice for sure and I am gonna want to add a sub to my Maverick but I want to see what people are doing first as well.

Finally got the box shape built up, never built a tighter fitting box, it doesn't move at all.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to put a nice oversized top on it to close it all off a little better. I'll need to trim the plastic just a little bit and then decide if I cut the front lip off the plastic liner and put it back on.

More wiring parts arrive from Amazon tomorrow and hopefully this weekend I'll be able to mount the amp and clean everything up real good.

This is a similar idea to what I’m putting together now (except I want the ā€œbackā€closer to the side edge of the under seat storage (I want to get another trim piece and edit it). I’m using kicker compc dvc 8ā€ tho and want to angle the speaker up, in the direction of the middle of the storage bin…. Basically if you flipped your box over, that 45 angle šŸ“ <—- would look like this with the sub mounted in that front
Do you know what the cu. footage is your box?

Does anyone know the max mounting depth of the 6.5" speaker for the front doors?
