Sheila, offered to refund my purchase price for the light bar as a "Thank you" on behalf of XT. I countered with "Could I just keep an additional light bar and send back 2"? So, thats what was agreed on and what I did, doing the right thing..... Next

Had several orders messed up with Amazon. I always contact Amazon when they make a mistake. Only once when a $220 item never arrived and they shipped another… only for the 1st shipment to arrive a month later. That’s the only time they asked me to ship it back (Maverick Tuxmats).
The other 6 or 7 mistakes they just told me to keep or donate it (it’s probably the supplier/seller that gets the short stick, not Amazon).

That is correct it does not come out of Amazon's pocket.

Why don't people these do the right thing?
It's getting worse and worse as time goes on in this world!
If it was your business:
1. Would you want to know if an employee made a huge mistake?
2. Would you want the customer to do the right thing and return the extras?
3. Would you thank the customer by offering an one time discount for their honesty? (This happened to me)

And the justification that keeping the extra, equals the shortages you didn't receive? You know you bitch to sellers
when you're short until you get your product or money back!

What goes around comes back to get to get even.

I've received over-deliveries, wrong items received etc, from many different vendor over the years, Every time I've reported it, they say "keep it." It's just not worth their time and trouble to do a return.
Most companies expect and budget for a certain small percent of problems with sales, and they book it to "errors and omissions." Karma not an issue.

Don't try to justify being guilty of a crime!

What business are you in?

This is what drives up prices and drives businesses into bankruptcy!
It's Walmart, take them to your local store and tell them you received extras you didn't pay for and wish to give them back!
They will need to get their manager because no one does the right thing anymore these days!

Yes. It's for the hybrid and the filter is surprisingly tiny which is probably why I got the whole case. The cabin air filter is twice as big and the box for a single one of those was bigger than the box for this entire case of engine filters.

I think Walmart was actually the only place that had both the cabin AND engine filter in stock, most online stores only had one or the other. Even Amazon was out of stock. It's worth a shot getting them from there and seeing if you get lucky with 5 free filters

Gosh! You order one you get twelve, can't imagine why they would be out of stock.

I've tried that.

I went further into it than usual when auto zone sent a part for my E-150 that apparently only fit a single, obscure Honda model.

So I emailed them about the mistake, and instead of picking it up, they sent another.

Contacted them again, and was told they had no way of taking it back--and that it would mess up their inventory if I brought it back to a store!

I asked what to do with it, and they suggested selling it on eBay!


After a couple of rounds of this, I threw up my hands and gave up.

At least one was still in the van when it got stolen the second time, and wasn't there when it was recovered.

I don't remember what happened to the other.

Oh no! Poor multi-billionaire corporate Walmart! They're really hurting for that $50 box of air filters! FFS people, get off your high horses. If this was a local mom and pop shop, sure, but this is Walmart. This is the massive corporation that literally puts the mom and pop shops out of business. They can suck it. Enjoy the free filters OP!
