Hey man, I got the first Hybrid on the Island of Puerto Rico. I ordered them over one year before they were delivering them. As my was one of the first batches made in Mexico and Covid was a big deal back then , the plant in mexico ran out of FORD parts and put in some cheaper parts for the fuse box, and cable from the DC/DC inverter to the 12 volt battery. I took several visits to the Ford dealership here on the Island to fix the recalls, all for free of course. I hated taking it in as there is no uber or lift on the Island and the Ford dealership is 45 minutes away and 70 $ in a taxi.
I love the little truck. I carry dirt and cement all the time in my Maverick hybrid, mostly I surf and carry wing foil boards and kites a lot, my Maverick is great for that as I take a lot of long trips often thru San Juan so bad freeway traffic. My truck gets over 50 mpg in bumper to bumper traffic so it's no big deal. I have averaged 46 mpg for my first 19,000 miles so far. It is much lighter than my friends new Ranger 4 wheel drive and more fun to hussle through the twisty mountain roads here. My friend's Ranger weighs 1000 pounds more so braking and cornering are adversely affected by the weight. I raced several cars on the big and small road courses in california for 35 years, weight is the enemy of speed! I love my Maverick hybrid. It should last much longer than the turbo motor which has twice the pressure (PSI), and heat as the normally aspirated hybrid. You will love the gas mileage. My Maverick gets 10 mpg better than my Honda fit with a low powered 1.5 L motor. I don't have any experience with the hybrid 4 wheel drive, they did not offer them in 2022, if they did I would have gone that way. I live on a very steep mountain road by a rainforest. It rains 200 plus inches every year, So far I have not really had any problems with traction. When I move to BG Kentucky in 4 years for our new baby's school I will put on some studded snow tires for 3 months in the winter when it snows or at least some really good snow tires. Also consider the factory warranty for the hybrid system as compared to the turbo motor which has twice the heat and pressure on it. Ford warranty for the hybrid, "This coverage lasts for 8 years or 100,000 miles from the Warranty Start Date, whichever occurs first, and covers the following components: High Voltage Battery The core component that powers your hybrid or electric vehicle. " You will love your little truck for commuting . you will still have your big tow vehicle when you need it! Dr. Joseph

Hello all , my first post and very happy to be here . I have been skulking around a bit and reading
a lot of posts , I have a 3/31 build date for my 2025 Lariat AWD hybrid , space white , BAP , tow pack , sun roof , slider , console vault and some other goodies . After lots of reading I'm beginning to wonder if I should have gone with the ecoboost and the 8 spd .

After lots of reading it seems the abundant mileage I was hoping to get is going to be a pipe dream , I
like the thought of trying something new "hybrid technology" but I'm leaving power on the table vs ecoboost
and I may only achieve 5-6 more miles per gallon with hybrid .

Currently I'm commuting to work 110 MI round trip in a 2023 F450 Lariat diesel dually (keeping) so no matter which maverick I get it will be a mileage improvement over the 17 I'm getting now . Can any
25' hybrid owners give me some feedback or advice whether I should keep this hybrid coming or maybe
opt for the ecoboost , I'm trying not to make the wrong decision . It seems from reading some of you really like your hybrid's and some do not any input much appreciated !
Buy the Hybrid if mileage is more important to you than power. It was for me. Most hybrid buyers drive light footed anyway because they are trying to minimize fuel consumption for cost or to limit their carbon footprint. My 2024 Hybrid xlt hybrid is averaging 43 mpg (computer reading) at 8700 miles. Probably 5% less as I haven’t reset the mpg computer. Hiway miles at 65 mph will reduce my tank average to high 30s. half hiway and in town usage I get over 40 year round, even though we have subzero winters here in northern Wisconsin. I can haul 2500 lbs of firewood in a trailer up and down hills no problem. Most of my usage is car-like, but the beds is their for hauling and gets used pretty often. I’d buy it again. No one else sells this combination of functionality and mileage.

Highly recommend you check the price to ensure the Maverick Hybrid vs the Ecoboost...
Been some very recent posts on how the Insurance Cos are gouging hybrid owners and I have experienced the very same thing!

Best truck I ever had! I love my ‘22 hybrid Lariat with all the bells and whistles!! It was a truck someone else ordered, but got tired of waiting for production and delivery. I bought it on 27 Oct 22 and have never looked back! I love the smoothness of the transmission. It doesn’t have any shift points like a regular transmission, so you won’t feel any shifting through the gear ranges. It has very good acceleration and pick up.
I’ve never owned a vehicle with a sunroof, electric sliding rear window, and all of the top line features and upgrades that the Lariat has. Most of the vehicles I’ve owned were always on the lower end of the spectrum, so owning this Mav has been a pleasure!!
Don’t listen to the “Nay Sayers”. Stick with what you ordered. You’ll be happy you did!

All the complaints about Low MPG in Cold Temperatures.

Try this:
Seat Heaters on
Steering Wheel Heater on
Lower the ambient cabin temp.

Naah. It's worth the extra gas to keep the wife from complaining that it's too cold. ;)

I prefer the hybrid drivetrain because it is more durable, less complex, and drives considerably smoother than the EB drivetrain. I've had both.

The fact it is more efficient than the EcoBoost is just an added benefit to me.

You have 110 mile commute. Get the hybrid.
I don't have 25, I have 23 Hybrid.
25 Hybrid AWD with 4K tow is the whole enchilada. 40 plus mpg, 4,000 lb towing capability, AWD, pickup. Was not even possible until Ford did it.
It was always possible whether Ford did it or not....

Stick with the hybrid, even at Interstate speeds I'm getting 32-34. Most of the time I drive on secondary roads which are 55mph and I average 63. I live in the sticks so Interstate travel is uncommon. On regular roads, most of it being highway, I'm right around 40mpg in the summer and 36 in the winter. With the extra weight and drag of the AWD system (which my '23 doesn't have), you may see slightly lower numbers. Although no match for my F150 5.0 Coyote, my Mav has plenty of power.

I'm extremely pleased with my '24 Lariat hybrid. I was expecting 38-40 mpgs overall average, and after 15k miles my lifetime is 42.3. Compared to the 2.5 Outback it replaced, that's a 17 mpg increase. A couple of minor annoyances, for sure - to me "Lariat" means a certain level of creature comforts throughout the Ford lineup....I wish mine had memory, ventilated seats. The occasional dash rattle is annoying, as is the occasional deep sleep mode during the cold months. I believe that issue will be addressed with the rumored battery upgrade. And I wish people would stop hitting it...I've been hit in the back twice now, but that's not the Maverick's fault.

It's very comfortable for my tall, lanky frame, it's a solid driving vehicle, and its utility is unmatched. For what I paid (mid-$30s), it was an excellent investment since I keep my vehicles 10-12 years and over 200k miles.

They charge extra for driving a hybrid? What's the logic there?
Still driving the roads tearing them up with decently heavy vehicle, but not using as much gas as a heavy vehicle would use to pay your fair share to maintaining those roads.

Extra for annual tag/registration is one method being used for BEV and HEV to not be pushing the taxes onto ICE only users.

The eCVT does give some extra efficiency even if driving situation is mainly too fast to use the hybrid aspect.
Less parts to break in it too - though with electronics - a problem with modules contained within it means the same removal as an AT to fix some things.

Sport mode will give that traction motor some time to help the system get up to 245 ft-lbs torque and 191 HP in many types of driving, and it can feel like it. Maybe not top end speeds.

But if not driving long enough or right speeds to benefit from the electric part, along with higher fees for ownership likely now or eventually - may not be a savings.
Total highway miles over 70 mph say - only getting a little help from the eCVT.
Daily work trip is over a hill - may get a little help from eCVT, and engine off on coasting, though doesn't EB shutoff fuel when coasting like others have done?

Like getting 40 MPG avg year round could be great - unless you only drive 3000 annually anyway.
75 gal @ say $3 = $225 getting 40 mpg
150 gal @ 20 mpg = $450.
So if your state charges $225 for having a HEV, you have no savings.

If your 3k was only highway miles getting say 30 mpg, obviously worse from there.
If gas goes up, better.
Take it from there.
