25 k yr =$651 savings yr if you keep it 10 yrs only 6,510 -$1,500 or $5,010 savings
I would still pay the 1500 extra for the Hybrid. I have only had my hybrid 6 months and have already saved $453 in gas costs; 7110 miles on the truck. I was filling up a 2 door g5 every week for communiting to work and depending on the station I used, sometimes every 5 to 6 days. Now I fill up every 4 weeks or so and always above a quarter tank when I fill up the Maverick.

In my view, i think hybrids are essentially going to replace standard ICE vehicles except in high performance or heavy utility vehicles. Most of the current offerings in hybrid lineups look really competitive today. And for a relatively marginal increase in cost, you get rapid/notable reductions in cost via fuel savings.

Electric is great, yes. But for the next ten years at least, they are probably going to remain MASSIVELY more expensive than any other competing option—and because of this it still takes most of the vehicles lifespan to recoup the added costs via fuel savings. They are also still handicapped by charging limitations too. The long-term uptake of electric may not be as fast either if they don’t solve the cost and general availability of lithium or start massively expanding the central power grid.

Hybrids seem to be in a good position if manufacturers play their cards right— they were seen as gutless gimmicks by many folks 20 years ago. Now the tech has evolved to the point they are outperforming their standard fuel counterparts in many cases, they look good, and reliability is better/batteries are more trusted. Hybrids/plug-in hybrids offer a great way to move towards partial electrification with limited/quickly reversed cost increases while we wait on pure electric vehicles get more advanced and drop in price.

But obviously who knows for sure. It could swing either way depending on what tech advances better. If a battery breakthrough takes place, pure electric would suddenly be super enticing. But that price has has gotta plummet regardless.
Fully agree. I just had the privilege of a trip to Europe for 2 weeks. About 1/3 of the cars are EVs, and 90% of the rest are hybrids. I was like a kid in a candy shop seeing all the makes and models we don’t have here. My rental was a Cubera (SEAT/VW). For fuel costs and tax purposes, their cars are considerably smaller there, yet as a tall guy I was quite comfortable. I did see an F150 and a Mustang GT in Amsterdam, but in general their common family movers are wagons and short short wheelbased Tiguan sized.

As far as I know the order banks are still open. I guess it’s safe to assume Ford priced out a decent amount of people. If in fact they can do 10 to 11,000 per month I'm wondering if delivery times will improve? One can hope, right?
I caved on my 23 XL hybrid w Co-Pilot 360 & tow hitch. Rolled over to 24 XL Ecoboost. Decided, while I was at it, to add AWD ($2220) & 4K tow pkg ($645 over tow hitch). Base price ($23,400) is up $1205 from 23 price, D&D up $100. Will see if Ford will at least offset the $1305. My original order went in 9/20/22.

I put a $1,000 deposit on my Maverick order 2 weeks ago. My dealer was very helpful and actually gave me a $500 discount off MSRP which considering the demand was a nice bonus!
Did they tell you if they have a doc fee and how the doc fee was?

If you are gonna jump ship to the EB it really doesn’t make sense not to get the 4K and AWD. I had that that as an XL and a XLT Hybrid on order this year. Hybrid came in first. If the transition offers aren’t at least $1500 on EB orders I suspect a good number of folks won’t be picking up their ‘24 orders.

You have to make the time and apply and pay for the membership. It has not been a full 30 days for me so I'm not surprised it's not working. Pretty simple process to pay $20 and save $500
And if you have Country insurance, you are automatically a member. I asked for a coupon three months after receiving the Mav and the check came a few weeks later from Ford.

Dealers would have no idea of knowing whether a customer ordered at another dealer as well. And obviously the Ford system doesn't do any kind of name/address match to prevent it.

I would say most/many dealers still are requiring no deposit on Maverick orders, as they figure it'll be an easy sale if the original orderer walks away. With fewer orders being placed for 24 and increased production capacity, I don't think dealers are worried about the possibility of losing future allocations by not having all the trucks sold to the same person as who is COVP'd on the order.

Plus, I think there will be enough Mavericks to go around by spring that dealers will be able to order stock units with the Ecoboost engine. People will start buying Mavericks off the lot just like any other "normal" vehicle. These aren't C8 Corvettes or anything.
eh, possibly they could do a driver's license number search - that is part of the COVP process but I don't know if they would care or want to pursue the matter with the customer, like you say in the end if it is abandoned then it's the dealer's....

yeah, I was all set to buy a hybrid. In the interest of actually taking delivery of the truck, I spoke to my dealer and he told me that the hybrid will be an extremely long wait, he said if I could consider an eco-boost the wait would be shorter. So an eco-boost XLT, it is.
I was planning to buy a hybrid but an Ecoboost just like I wanted appeared, so I bought it. FWIW, I love it, Ecoboost and all.

Would you happen to know if you can stack Farm Bureau Membership discount with the x-plan discount?
