This will be my first summer with the Maverick, and curious what everyone does for A/C settings. In the winter I left it on full auto 70 degrees and it worked great. Do you set a temp and do full auto or set it manually? I noticed that in auto it doesn’t do recirculate and you have to manually hit that button or use Max A/C. How well does the auto function cool or should I use Max A/C and adjust the fan speed manually? I tend to like it cold in the truck. My old Subaru was useless in the summer on auto, you had to set everything manually to get it to cool well, so curious how the Maverick system works.

I leave it on full auto all the time and bounce between 68-72 depending on the temperature outside. It's worked great for a solid year and 4 seasons. I'm always comfortable

Matters where you live. I have already begun Summer mode .. Texas Edition. I switch to Max cool and full recycling before leaving the truck, so that it will cool down very quickly. Then turn off the max and the AC returns to 69 settings after the truck quickly drops temp.
I am looking for a clean looking in channel wind shades. Have gotten those in my Prius and last truck, works wonders! But not much looks good on Mavericks yet. The rear window just doesn’t cut it for cooling til outside full sun unless it is over 100 degrees.

Auto and 68 was pretty solid- But with my ocd I usually mess with knob settings about every three minutes regardless.

Noticed today that the truck turns recirc. Off when you restart it if the system is left on Auto. Might just use Max A/C and manually adjust fan speed. I will say the A/C works well, it’s not too hot here yet but it mops the floor with my previous car (Subaru). That plus having cloth seats makes it quite comfortable.

Fords HVACs do have some wonky settings- Such as friends raptor and probably all Fords maverick included wont let you blast full AC to just the footwells- Tried to keep a bucket of ice cold on a 30 minute drive when it was 88 outside-

I had Texas max tint with ceramic put on front doors and 20% with ceramic tint on rear doors and rear window. Eliminated a lot of max AC time and did not have to open windows either.

Good to know got pics of tint? My area of town are VERY by the book on tints, lights and exhaust mods out of norm are failed routinely. My Prius with an added sun screen ( removable ) did not pass, thankfully They didn’t charge me to get retested after removing them. The wind shields hid the fact it was a wrap around style ( sock like ) so some what shocked them I just opened door and yanked them off.

IMO there's only one correct AC setting and that's "OFF". Windows down, sunroof open and enjoy the beautiful warm weather in your hair! For me there is no limit on the temp, if it's 95° with 80% relative humidity there's still no AC.

That was me...the last time I owned a car without AC (many decades ago). Now, in Florida's heat and humidity, it's almost always on. Not as cold as many folks, but it's on.

I suspect the default to outside air is because they want fresh air flow if possible. I have seen that on other vehicles too. Default is for flow through ventilation.
