The other weekend I crawled underneath my truck and could find no leaks, CV boots were good, etc. All there was is salt build up on the exhaust. I’ve lived in the salt belt my whole life and never had any issues with a smell from salt.
One thing I noticed is under the hood, one of the drive...
I’m having this exact same issue, almost 30k miles. Never had it happen before just started this winter. I live in upstate NY so it’s cold and snowy. I don’t see any obvious leaks or other issues and it doesn’t happen every time however it seems to be more intense and frequent recently.
Historically yes the front brakes would wear out first however with modern vehicles my experience has been the rear brakes wear out first. My hypothesis is that the rear brakes are being used more and combined with stability, traction control, etc. My experience with Japanese vehicles is they...
Just wanted to comment here that you are not alone, my Maverick does this and several others as well. I have found that using the Rain-X Latitude wipers helps with the issue a lot (no idea why), but they do still skip occasionally. It drives me nuts and I hate driving in the rain because of it.
I have an appointment in a couple weeks to have this replaced but I am nearly 100% confident it will fix it as it has fixed it for other people on here.
I actually called my dealer to check on it and then was able to get an appointment. I wonder if they were ever going to call me. Never working with this dealer again.
So looks like good news, that part is no longer on backorder and I have an appointment scheduled to have it replaced on 12/14. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong this time and it can actually be repaired correctly. For anyone still waiting on this part, give your dealer a call, they should be...
Ouch. I have a case open with Ford now too. I was expecting to wait a while. Such a frustrating experience, but thankfully the truck is drivable. I’m ready to dump this as soon as it’s fixed as I just don’t want to keep running into issues.
I will caution you that the dealer originally diagnosed mine incorrectly as a purge valve and that did not fix the problem. So far they replaced the purge valve and the charcoal canister and now we are waiting on the fuel tank pressure sensor which is ultimately the issue here. And that part is...
Wow reading your post sounds like I wrote it! I am having the exact same frustrations and issues. My dealer has been nothing short of incompetent as well. I also want to get rid of my Maverick to get my wife a new car, but like you said you’re stuck. Was all ready to pull the trigger on a new...
Well the saga continues…
After waiting over a month to get into the dealer to have this fixed after their first failed attempt, they call me to state that “the repair didn’t work”. What actually happened was they only installed a new charcoal canister and didn’t install the fuel tank pressure...
Good luck but I don't think it will work. I tried to clean mine with brake clean and it did not work. Apparently what happens is the oil saturates and ruins the sensor. Similar problems on Rangers and Broncos, and cleaning never seems to work. Hoping that you don't have to wait too long for the...
It’s on the driver’s side about midway through the truck, underneath the underbody shield. It is connected to the charcoal canister on one end. The part number is NZ6Z9D333A if you want to look up a picture.
I did replace the wipers multiple times with different brands/styles and had the same result. The rain-x blades did the best but ultimately the issue was still there.
It drives me absolutely insane to be honest. The ceramic spray and Rain-X blades do seem to help it but it seems to be an inherent design flaw. I’m a Ford guy deep in my heart, but how can you be making cars for 100 years and not get wipers right?
I have an appointment with the dealer for October 13th to have it replaced. The FTPS took about two weeks to come in on backorder but the dealer was booked out so I had to wait another month. Not happy with this dealer but that’s another story…
Likewise, been driving with a CEL on for a long...
Hi there! I have an appointment currently to have this repaired under factory warranty. The dealer initially misdiagnosed it as the purge valve so I had to take it back and they ordered the fuel tank pressure sensor and charcoal canister. Parts finally came in and will be replaced on Oct. 13.
