History: When I walked into the dealership I had everything already picked out. All that was necessary was to enter the order and take my deposit. Once done, I signed the paperwork and did not ask for a penny discount; not even the $179 lifetime nitrogen filled tires…
This dealer represents 9 different manufacturers and is a mega player.

Now: I talked with Ford CRC and my dealer today. My order is in the system but not yet scheduled. My dealer says they have 35 orders but only 1 scheduled for production. It sounded like they are spending most of their time trying to keep Bronco and Maverick buyers from canceling orders.

Point: If my Mega dealer can’t get product, and I’m gonna have to wait anyway, why shouldn’t I cancel my order and reorder from one of the dealers offering 3 or 4% off msrp.

Thoughts??

Sounds like it’s time to get a quote from Chapman then price out the travel costs and factor in your time and see if it’s worth it.

I cancelled my order from a local dealer when he said MSRP plus fees as there was not enough profit to sell for less (lol) so I went with the 4% below invoice guys. OK; maybe a road trip to get it but still saving quite a bit of money.

Heh dont go with herlong in edgefield.

i am sure either fleet dealer would be happy to assist you, I understand the offerings may have changed a bit, but I can vouch for Chapman Ford and can recommend Grainger Ford (the 2 fleet guys). My personal bias is to Tom @ Chapman, but it is a confidence of 10 vs 9, because I dealt with one rather than the other. Both are excellent.

Do anybody here know about X plan pricing? Did I have to order my maverick at the X plan price or do I talk to the dealer at the time of delivery?

My local dealer is not doing any incentives like 3% off MSRP.

Dbarr,
I also ordered from Jim Hudson and my sales rep is terrible with follow up. I emailed him with no response, I called him and said he would send a copy of the order but he didn’t. I had to email the sales manager to get the sales rep to send me a copy. I’m keeping my order there only because I’m not in a hurry. I’d wait until next weeks schedule shows up and then decide.

instead of saying "there's other threads", I'll opt to be helpful: what do you want to know?

Dbarr, I ordered from Granger. They are great to work with plus 3% below invoice. However, they are receiving very allotments...they only got 5 for the whole month of October and they still have 30+ orders to be scheduled.

You have to tell the dealer up front that you are using XPlan

Thank you!

That's all I wanted to know.

We shall see if they want to work with me on that but it doesn't matter. I see the X plan savings to be fairly negligible.

I believe X Plan is Invoice +1% and limit to Doc Fee amount.
Chapman is 4% BELOW Invoice.
It was a $3,500 no brainer for me and Tom and Steven @Dealerinsider are EXCELLENT to deal with. You can't go wrong. Yes they have a lot of orders for Maverick's. BUT they had 30 allotted last week compared to Granger's 5.

The problem is I am in the pacific northwest and Granger Ford is a little too far for me.

I know I get loyalty credit with my dealer is its the second vehicle I purchase from them which is $750 discount I believe.
