My truck got totaled today. I planned on keeping the old girl even after getting the maverick so I was really in no hurry.
Now I really do need a vehicle and I really do hope it doesn't take a year to get the maverick in.

Get ready for a long, loong, loooong wait! There are still people waiting for their Maverick from over a year ago. Parts constraints, factory shut downs for Thanksgiving and Christmas through New Year's, and a few other shut downs like last year will push orders back once again. Even though I was able to pick up an XL hybrid in January, then traded it in for a hybrid XLT that two different customers canceled, my original hybrid XLT that I ordered on 15 Oct is still not built, even though I was given an initial production date of 19 Sept, then 26 Sept, and now 3 October. I expect further push backs.

Your best bet is to find something else to get you by until your Maverick comes in.

Yeah with how long the wait was for a lot of people and that there's no guarantee they're going to deliver quickly, I'd see about buying the cheapest beater you can find that doesn't require TOO much in obvious repairs, and just drive that until your Maverick gets delivered.

That's been my plan ever since I sold my Miata and was reduced to one vehicle.

Did something terribly wrong to an entry level manual transmission 2019 (MQB!) Jetta one day. No animals or plants were injured.
Wife rewarded with Kona Red Mazda 3 because the pricey Miata has zero room for her purse plus me or girl/boy?friend in the car at all.
Ordered an entry level Mav to replace the 2013 ICE Fusion we got after something terrible happened to my V6 manual trans. Mustang of 2008.
(Have I mentioned the 1998 manual transmission Mazda B2500 yet? Sad.)
Then $1000 water pump, mostly labor to access, strikes the Fusion I'm driving in November 2021. Ouch!

Where did you find a Maverick for near MSRP? How many miles? I wouldn't have thought this is possible.

There was one at my dealer in Austin for $28,000 but it was gone the next day and the one I purchased yesterday was on Echo Park dealer site. It is being sent to Austin from San Antonio. It was about $3000 less than everything else online and only 1K miles. Its coming in around $30,000.
