Yeah if I absolutely needed a vehicle I wouldn’t have waited so long for my order. I’ve seen quite a few people say their Ranger gets decent gas mileage for its size and I see them on every lot in town where I live.
The ranger is no maverick but the maverick is no ranger either. To be honest I haul nothing but air most of the time but my old truck had a long bed in it and it was very nice having that longer bed.
Having more truck is not needed most of the time but when you need it it sure is nice.

I ordered a hybrid. I am seriously considering changing and getting the eco boost or … I’m pretty sure you can’t switch drivetrains or trim levels on the 23’s once your order is confirmed.

My truck got totaled today. I planned on keeping the old girl even after getting the maverick so I was really in no hurry.
Now I really do need a vehicle and I really do hope it doesn't take a year to get the maverick in.
I'm trusting you Ford don't let me down and don't make me have to go somewhere else.
Plan on a long wait. The more basic package you get, the sooner you’ll get it produced. I ordered my Maverick Oct 11, 2021. I’m still waiting. I did however receive an email from Ford advising me my Maverick will be in for production the week of Oct 31. So it will be over a year. I however ordered the Hybrid Lariat Lux package with mud flaps and all weather floor mats. The MY23 packages are broken down more than MY22. Example, Lariat Lux package included the spray in bed liner. Just part of the pack deal. Spray in bed liner is a constraint item. Best to do aftermarket. So when you order, avoid the constraint items. Your dealer can tell you what the constraints are. Anything you can get after market and things your dealer can install, go that route. Since your truck got destroyed and you need transportation . . . Meaning you need a replacement vehicle like yesterday, ordering a MY23 will not work for you. Careful in your buying. Many dealerships are raising the price of their vehicles because of limited supplies. Never pay over MSRP. If you can find a vehicle below MSRP and you like it, then you better buy. If you go home to think about it, guarantee, that vehicle will be sold if you go back to buy. Used car prices are beginning to taper off and even drop somewhat. So buying used is an option to consider.

Hmmmm, I'm sensing a pattern of you & manual transmissions. It's probably a good thing for you they don't really make them anymore. You can only hold the gas to the floor & sidestep the clutch so many times & then it's all over.
Despite your lack of confidence, I now drive a '22 manual GTI. Corners so much better than the Jetta.
