Wrong spec for 0W-20 synthetic for a hybrid. Ford spec for their hybrid is WSS-M2C962-A1, not what you posted. Ford has different specs for different vehicles, synthetic and blends as well as viscosities. The Ecoboost and the hybrid have different oil specs..
Take the rest of the day off and have a beverage, brother.

Back on topic, just take the truck back to the dealer, with your service manual, and have them do the job correctly. You will never know the difference as is, but it would be a piece of mind thing to me.
And make sure to be specific when/if you go back next time.
Good luck.

Hey All... Just wondering...Has this been a problem? I went to there dealer to get my 1st of 2 free oil changes and when I took a look at the work sheet when I got home I noticed that they had put in 5W- oil when on the oil cap it says 0W-?
I called into my service advisor and he said that it what it called for when he put in the VIN #

Any ideas why that would be?
It's a sales tactic at many shady dealerships. Unless you pay a premium they will not give you fully synthetic oil. My dealership will only do 5W-20 synthetic blend at the regular rate, have to pay an extra $20 to get the full synthetic.

The oil costs more.
$20 extra is $4 per quart extra. Reasonable.

It's still going to be fine.

Some people on these message boards are using 5w-30 intentionally in warm climates.
The most important thing is if they used the right type of oil (full synthetic) . I agree that in warm weather the weight doesn't really matter.

If the vehicle specifies full synthetic, they should inform the customer that their oil change will cost more rather than simply putting the synthetic blend in. The oil change interval is based on full synthetic

Simpler than once a year? No thanks.

Simpler than once a year? No thanks.
I live in North Florida. I remember back in 70s most of the time we either used 10w-40 if we used multi grade oil. Or we used 30 weight year round if using single grade oil. It never got cold enough to require a thinner oil than 39 weight in our area. When my brother moved to New Jersey, it was a new experience for him to HAVE TO use a multi viscosity oil in order to ensure the ability to start on a winter day.

I would be more concerned with full synthetic vs 5w. If they did not use full synthetic and your vehicle requires, go back and demand a redo... Bring your manual in with you to show the required oil. I asked for full synthetic on my Escape all the time. Once I found that they did not used even though write-up showed I wanted. The dealer changed it right then and there. I noticed it (even before I got the receipt)because the price was lower than it should have been with full synthetic.

I don't think the dealer will push back to get this corrected. It should be no big deal and they should be glad to take care of it.
