I have said pretty much the same thing to several people talking to me about my Mav. “I love it. Great truck for what I need. A hybrid…fantastic gas mileage especially here in CA! Oh, it took 10 months to get it and you can’t order one right now.”Exactly. Kind of awkward praising the features of the Maverick in one breath only to add, "Oh, by the way, you can't get one".
I have yet to see a Maverick in the Boston area, but every single time I leave the house I see at least one bronco. My wife even commented recently that they’re everywhere. She really likes the headlights at night so we been on the lookout. Maybe broncos just sold a ton in the New England market? Not sure.Just because we are all eagled eyed and on the lookout, the reality is you'll not see very many Mavericks for several years.
How many Hyundai Velosters have you seen on the road lately? There are 200,000 of them in the US.
How many Honda Elements have you seen? There were almost 350,000 of those sold in the US.
How many Honda Ridgelines? 450,000 sold in the US (new+old).
Our perception of a hot vehicle, and the reality of total production are not equal! For that matter, how many Broncos or Bronco Sports have you seen so far? A handful, if that I'm guessing.
It'll be years before we see the Maverick with any sort of regularity.
Just last night I saw a commercial on the tube for Ford pickups, wherein the Maverick was added to the list. But it was as if the word “Maverick” was dubbed on anI have said pretty much the same thing to several people talking to me about my Mav. “I love it. Great truck for what I need. I can tell you exactly why you hate the lines on that thing: It's friggin ugly!My friend got a a Santa Cruz a few weeks ago and I got a good look at it. Looked pretty nice and I love the cubby storage in the bed but that stupid rear window is the deal breaker for me. Don’t know why I just hate the lines on the thing
The Maverick would be a perfect truck for most cities located in the Bay Area ... especially SF which is mostly unkind to trucks.I've seen a few here in the Bay Area, CA, in fact someone on the very next block of my street has one. They got theirs shortly before I got mine (I don't know the person). I also had an interesting drive from Oakland to The Ford Store in Morgan Hill in my Maverick, about a 60 mile trip. For the first half of the trip a Maverick Hybrid was following directly behind me, then he passed me and I followed behind him all the way to Morgan Hill where he got off the road one exit before I did. I predict they will be everywhere before too long.
