Drove next to a Santa Cruz, well before the Maverick showed up.
Saw one Maverick in town, aside from mine. A few fairly short out
of town trips resulted in nothing!

And only 5 folks asking about it. First in the parking lot at Harbor Freight
when I stopped to get a hitch, ball and locking pin. The last, was one of the ground guys, that works for the BNSF in town. Stopped to watch them switch a few cars, and he asked what I though of the Maverick.

Have seen a few in dealer lot though. Not sure if for local folks, or somewhere close.

pretty common sight around SE Michigan...at least in my area. I live in a town of 30k, at least a dozen floating around here.

My friend got a a Santa Cruz a few weeks ago and I got a good look at it. Looked pretty nice and I love the cubby storage in the bed but that stupid rear window is the deal breaker for me. Don’t know why I just hate the lines on the thing

Exactly. Kind of awkward praising the features of the Maverick in one breath only to add, "Oh, by the way, you can't get one".
I have said pretty much the same thing to several people talking to me about my Mav. “I love it. Great truck for what I need. A hybrid…fantastic gas mileage especially here in CA! Oh, it took 10 months to get it and you can’t order one right now.”

Just because we are all eagled eyed and on the lookout, the reality is you'll not see very many Mavericks for several years.

How many Hyundai Velosters have you seen on the road lately? There are 200,000 of them in the US.

How many Honda Elements have you seen? There were almost 350,000 of those sold in the US.

How many Honda Ridgelines? 450,000 sold in the US (new+old).

Our perception of a hot vehicle, and the reality of total production are not equal! For that matter, how many Broncos or Bronco Sports have you seen so far? A handful, if that I'm guessing.

It'll be years before we see the Maverick with any sort of regularity.
I have yet to see a Maverick in the Boston area, but every single time I leave the house I see at least one bronco. My wife even commented recently that they’re everywhere. She really likes the headlights at night so we been on the lookout. Maybe broncos just sold a ton in the New England market? Not sure. 👍

I saw two on my commute home yesterday in Southern CA. One was my color and trim as well, which put me into a jealous rage.

Just last night I saw a commercial on the tube for Ford pickups, wherein the Maverick was added to the list. But it was as if the word “Maverick” was dubbed on an
already-made commercial. Maybe the Mavgates are about to open!

Came out of a local Lowe's to see an Area 51 XLT parked next to mine. Wish I had paper to post a note on his windshield. I was so absorbed into loading up 96" closet doors in mine, that I didn't think to take a pic. Anyway, love that Area 51 color on the Maverick.

I've seen a few here in the Bay Area, CA, in fact someone on the very next block of my street has one. They got theirs shortly before I got mine (I don't know the person). I also had an interesting drive from Oakland to The Ford Store in Morgan Hill in my Maverick, about a 60 mile trip. For the first half of the trip a Maverick Hybrid was following directly behind me, then he passed me and I followed behind him all the way to Morgan Hill where he got off the road one exit before I did. I predict they will be everywhere before too long.

10/14/22 SIDE NOTE: Since writing this on September 9 I haven't seen any Maverick other than my own. Where did they all go?

Meh, the Santa Cruz doesn't look that bad, much better in person than in pictures/video. Of course half the time you don't know if you are seeing a Cruz or a Tucson when looking at the front. Neither the Santa Cruz or Maverick are what I would call good/attractive looking vehicles. The Santa Cruz looks more modern, while the Maverick looks utilitarian.

I saw my 6th Maverick in the wild today; a VB headed the opposite direction on a 2 lane highway which made it impossible to obtain further details. 1st sighting was in May, Area 51 XLT EB, then another Area 51 XLT EB with out of state plates at our local outdoor store. 3rd sighting was likely same truck given it had the same state plates on it and saw it near the outdoor store. 4th Cactus Gray Lariat Hybrid parked at my local grocery store. 5th was another VB Maverick headed WB on I74 in IN last weekend. That was the only one I saw in 1000 miles of driving during a several day road trip.
I've seen two Cactus Gray models at a local dealership. (I don't consider lots the wild. More like a controlled environment for vehicles, similar to a zoo for animals.) One Lariat EB, one XLT Hybrid with Carvana tags. Dealer also had an Alto Blue EB. I drove the Lariat EB and really enjoyed the experience.

The Maverick would be a perfect truck for most cities located in the Bay Area ... especially SF which is mostly unkind to trucks.
