I just drove from Los Angeles to San Francisco on Highway 1, with stops in Monterey and Santa Cruz and various side trips. Over 8 days I saw only one Maverick. To date, still a rare bird.

I bought a Saturn in 1990, the first year. It was a new model, a new division/company and a new look. It was, like the Maverick, one of the cheaper cars out there. For the first couple of years I didn't see many out there at all and I got a lot of attention. Then more of them were out there and other cars started to look like Saturn. Few problems- lost a starter at about 140k miles and front wheel bearings at about 150k. Sold it at 170k miles.![]()

So we live in a mid sized city in a populous state with 5 Ford dealers within 30 miles of each other but I have only seen 7 actual rigs and only at the dealers.
Today I spotted this fresh off the truck Hybrid Lariat at a dealer awaiting its prep time... first eyes on a Lariat and hybrid for me personally. Never have seen a truck out on the road. I have seen and touched an XL, XLT, AWD and now this white Lariat. Like I said 7 total in the mix.
I am a car/truck guy and can spot vehicles way off........ just not seeing many yet. I know they are being built and sold but it’s odd for me not to see someone out showing their new truck off
I feel deprived...., yet hopeful when deliveries ramp up.![]()
Not to turn this into a Saturn forum, but as I understand it, Saturn was basically Honda based. The Saturns were different and had nice lines. Shame they were discontinued.I bought a Saturn in 1990, the first year. It was a new model, a new division/company and a new look. It was, like the Maverick, one of the cheaper cars out there. update: Almost a month later and 2500 miles now I seen 2 Mavericks in one day on the road, both XLs. Still getting questions from people who never heard of a maverick, they say they're going to ford for a road test, didn't want to ruin their day saying to my self good luck with that.I still have only seen 6 and 3 were at dealers sold on Long Island NY, seen a white, blue XL and a red lariat parked at a golf course I go to walk my dog , mine is XLT with FX4, lux package, grey. lots of people asking questions but soon as you tell them it will be 8/12 months to get one and your going to pay over MSRP they lose interest quick. Ford could sell millions of these if they could build them and if they could control there dealers. But its OK I like that I have one and nobody can get one for now...
Exactly. Kind of awkward praising the features of the Maverick in one breath only to add, "Oh, by the way, you can't get one".update: Almost a month later and 2500 miles now I seen 2 Mavericks in one day on the road, both XLs.
