it looks like I tapped into my reserve tank as well. The pump stopped around the 14.3 gal mark. I usually wait around 15 secs and do a final top off for an extra 50 cents. This time it just kept going and going to the point I had to look under the truck to make sure I wasn't spilling gas on the ground. It took almost 2 minutes after the initial stop to fill up completely.

16.63 Gallons 👍
Thank you Juan for post and confirming that the hybrid holds more gas than 13.8 gallons

Juan you weren't the only one.
It has been proven before.

The hybrid has a gas tank larger than 13.8

So how does 631.6 miles divided by 16.6 gallons equal 47.7 mpg like on your display. My math says 38.06 mpg......................... That is a lot for the display to be off...............

I don't understand the math either, I don't compare the dash with a calculator during fill-ups. Also I'm not sure where you came up with 631 miles. But my guess is that to get over 600 miles in a tank, it needs better than 38 mpg also.

Something is not right, perhaps the pump calibration.

619.3/16.63=37.24 MPG

It’s been reported since the Maverick‘s introduction that the Hybrid tank holds more than the advertised ~13.8 gallons. I don’t recall ever seeing an actual fill up reported at 16.63 gallons,

OP, do you have the stock tires on the truck?

Yes, it should be 619 miles and 16.63 gallons for 37.22 mpg. Not sure why your mileage on display is so far off............................ I believe if I got 16.6 gallons in my Maverick which is a LOT plus my mileage was so far off, I would question the accuracy of the pump!!!

Is it off ?
You guys factor in ICE Off electric miles ?
That could easily get it over 37 mpg.

I had something like this late last year at a convenience store with my car. I was at 1/4 tank when I went in, and the pump said I put in approximately the tank capacity. No gas under the car.

So either my gas gauge, dash MPG, AND odometer were off, or something went wrong with the pump. I probably paid over $10 for gas I didn't get.

I have NOT returned to that store since to buy anything.

Ugh!! It’s been a long time since I paid that much for a tank of gas!

Mine is always off by 2-3 MPG as I always hand measure my mpg and compare to what the display mentioned. But the above is quite a lot.

You're playing with fire overfilling your tank (though I suspect it was a mechanical problem that "gave" you two extra gallons and you really didn't get them).

1) Never top off the tank. You're going to plug the vent valve and maybe the charcoal canister. The repair is pricey.
2) I'd bet that the pump is way off calibration, and they are cheating most of their Customers. I was supposedly able to pump 4 gallons more than the tank size at a particular station, and have never been back to that brand.

Your display is somewhat accurate and excellent mileage by the way! 619.3 miles / 47.7 mpg means you consumed 12.98 gallons. So your fill up was likely very close to that amount which falls inline with the tank capacity. Being charged for 3 gallons or more is a crime and that needs to be reported to the county auditor. Stay away from that pump from now on

Good milage! I am consistently get around 600 miles per tank unless the weather is very cold or very hot, and I usually fill up with about 12 gallons.

Not sure I understand your comment. That has happened before!!!😃Do you think the 619.3 shown on the display does not include electric miles; it says TOTAL miles.........?? If I add them then the OP is over 912 miles for the tank. 54.88 mpg which is well over his display and seems hard to do because he averaged less than 25 mph, per the display, so he must have done a whole lot of town driving. I realize hybrid is great in town, but this seems too good to be true. If the display total includes electric, which I think it does, I can subtract those and the ICE engine got only 19.6 mpg. Feel free to point out the errors in my thinking, my wife certainly does!!!:teehee:
