Ordered the XLT Hybrid with luxury package on 9/8/21. They originally scheduled production for the truck in May for June 13th. This scheduled date got pushed back 4 times, a couple times weeks after the scheduled week, but it finally went into production 8/9. When I got access to the ordering site (after the second reschedule) I was finally able to see my sticker, and I noticed that the luxury package was missing from it. Thinking it was a mistake, I contacted my sales guy asking if he knew what was up. All he could tell me is that he sees that it was ordered with the package and that the truck is not being built with it. He stated that it would be a good idea to take ownership regardless and then order the 2023 model and trade in the 22 model when it comes in. I asked if he could contact his ford rep and see if its just a mistake on the sticker or something and haven't gotten any feedback about the situation since.

I expect that it will come without the luxury package, but I haven't decided if I'm going to actually take ownership of the truck once it is delivered given how many features that I was expecting to have after this long wait are going to be missing (including fob, hitch, bedliner, bed outlet, etc.). I'm curious on everyone's experience with the Mavrick XLT Hybrid with and without the package and what peoples thoughts are on this situation. Should I just reject the incorrect build outright, stick with the package less Maverick, or do what the sales guy says and take ownership, but then order the 23 model?

I'd take it at this point, to be honest. If you are financing, one benefit of taking a 22 is you can get the locked rates from last year (0 for 36, .9 for 48, 1.9 for 60, etc.).

Plus, your truck is going to cost $2,500 less without the LUX package. And many (but not all) of the things you wanted can be added pretty easily. A bed liner of your choice is easily done. Heck, you can even add heated seats aftermarket and still be well under the $2,500 cost of the package.

My biggest concern is the trailer hitch. Were you counting on that from the lux package, or do you have FX4 and/or 4K Tow packages on your build.

Other than that, I'd take the truck and drive it while I waited for my 23. But hey, that's me. You do whatever is best for you.

Take it, use it till 23 in your configuration comes and trade in or if not needed can sell at a profit and have down payment on 23. Dealer may even pay you to drop it, and save $ for 23 order.

Might want to check the sticker more closely?

Window sticker does not list "luxury package" as a line item, it is broken out into separate exterior and interior line items (or groups of items).

More than enough tales abound of dealership sales people not exactly being, shall we say, clued in. Just sayin'.

I think a new hitch would be equally easy to install by yourself. Added it to my new Equinox with no problems, it was a Drawtite. I did it in about 30 or 40 minutes in the parking lot, not including the electrical.

This is correct. When I first looked at my window sticker I freaked out for a minute when I didn’t see the LUX package. Then I noticed it was listed separately

Call ford. Ask them to look into it and to start a case number for you so you can follow up. Then write a letter using the case number and detail your concerns. The key here is following up. Explain to them how the lack of features makes your purchase a waste of time and money since it does not meet your needs. Give them time to respond and see what they say.

Your salesperson is spot on. Order a 23 from him. Flip the 22 when the 23 arrives. Laugh all the way to the bank.

I have hybrid XLT LUX plus 3 dealer adds ordered 8/27/21 got vin # and week of 7/15 then moved to week of 8/8 then moved to week 8/29 then got "your maverick will be built" email from Ford. Will not be long before I can see my sticker and see what I am getting. The wife is enjoying her first edition lariat almost totally loaded she got in March. Will go for 0% 36 I think.

Uhhh...window stickers DO INDEED list luxury packages and will have a dollar amount.

If it's XLT Luxury Package it will say that and have a $2,500 charge.
