When I was looking at getting a truck (new or used), I never once looked at how the front end looked on any of them. I looked at engine, bed size, options and value in price relative to milage & year - not necessarily in that order.

I got the 2025 Maverick and had it for about 10 days now. I haven’t looked in detail at the front end till reading this thread right now and I can see why some think it looks awful, and I can see why some love the way it looks.

For me – not even a thought in my mind one way or the other.

Before the 2025 models arrived at dealers and people starting buying them, I noticed a LOT of hate for the front end re-design. Myself included. I was not a fan. In fact I was eager to get the previous design since that was the original Maverick that I fell in love with. This new front-end, at least on Ford’s website, looked AWFUL and my heart sunk.

…until I saw it in person. Then my opinion completely changed. I cannot exactly express why it looks so much better in person. But I think it’s partly due to the fact that all the camera angles were taken as if you were looking at it from 2 feet off the ground. The new bottom lip looked huge. And you focused on that more than you did the horn-shape of the lights. But when you see it in person, generally you’re looking at it from a higher vantage point, and you can see the 3D shape of it, rather than just a “slab” that is covering up the old lights.

I’m at the point now where I actually PREFER it over the original design. I love the horn-shaped lights. Anyone feel the same? Have you noticed a decrease in the hate for the front-end?
You know what, I felt exactly lije you and when I saw them at a dealership they looked better than I thought. But I think Ford could have done a bit better. Also offer a factory body lift as an option.

a body lift is done on body-on-frame vehicles and the Maverick is unibody.

There's not a lot of point in bitching about the poor 25 front-end redesign, as it is highly unlikely that Ford will do anything to fix it. Certain colours can minimize the jarring mis-design cues, but its still a poor frontend that should have had the creators fired.
Ford sure did something to fix the 2008 abomination of a headlight stack...LOL. Only lasted 3 years. Went from pretty cool..to UGLY...to pretty cool again. For a second, I though Chevy Chase went to the Ford design team........

Of course it's a unibody, but people do body lifts all the time. Not a suspension lift. Ford could offer a body lift with integrated cv and other parts.
you have that 100% backwards. you cannot body lift a unibody as I stated.

if you wanted a factory suspension lift, you need control arms and a front subframe to lower the engine. @Bwicka did the engineering on it a while back. (speaking of which, haven't seen much of him lately.)

Sometimes it's not the camera angle.

I actually always liked the 58/59 Edsel but not in pink, I actually owned one as a teenager and it was a good running driving car. Never understood why they failed when compared to a lot of what was available in the same period. I've seen the Mav 25's front end in person and still not a fan but that's okay as I love my 23.

Honestly....with the new headlights it's not too bad. I would get a 2025 over a 24 right now. BUT....every time I see the new front end the ONLY thing I think about is the first time and every time I see THIS truck........

Exactly.

The '25 Maverick front end styling faux pas is like a lot of recent GM refresh designs. Fugly.

And that's not even considering the safety issue of taking away physical controls and replacing them with touch-screen menus.

These two things made me scrap my plan last year to order '25 to replace my '23.

😁 I guess every auto company should fire every designer that ever existed. If we are suggesting we fire them based on the opinions of a few, I'am sure for every design produced, we could find someone that doesn't like it.

Well, over on the Santa Cruz forum, they've been calling all Mavericks ugly for the last 4 years, so beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. According to those guys, we're all feeble fuddy-duddies driving around in our boring Ford grandpa golf carts.

We should ask the Santa Cruz crowd if they like 2024 or 2025 better. They're a disinterested party.
They have enough denial with their front end being cut off of a mini van.

I;m used to them both now. I have a MY24 Lariat, and I do think the MY25 looks a bit more cleaner/upscale...

They both are handsome.... with perhaps the MY24 appearing more youthful and the MY25 more grownup...

I really have to get around to getting another Dremel kit so that I can finally finish the install of those Diode Dynamic fog lights... I think that will sharpen the appearance of my MY24 Lariat BAP quite a bit and it will look everybit as handsome as the MY25 Lariats.
