Most of my driving is in town and on 55mph roads but a few times a week I find myself on the highway running 70-75mph and on those trips I see 29-33mpg on the display. A few trips have been as high as 37mpg. But since we all know the display is optimistic take a few mpg off that.
I had to shop around to find a rate I was ok with. The quotes I received varied wildly, about triple from lowest to highest. Shop around and get them bidding against each other.
First of all, Jalopnick, need I say more?
I would be willing to bet that your average driver today couldn't tell the difference between front/rear/all wheel drive from the drivers seat.
I have had that come up a few times. Usually it also say something about low visibility or too clean the windshield. In my case it typically happens in the morning when there is dew on the windows. It resumes normal operation once everything warms up.
When using "L" to slow down, the only time it spins the engine at higher rpm is when the battery is full and it has no place to put the energy. IF any fuel is used, it is very little. The recovered energy out-weighs any fuel used.
You can do the same thing with using the brake peddle, the only...
This was my thought also. I have a hybrid and I like to use "L" to slow down, this way I know I am using regen and not the brake pads. BUT I ALWAYS make sure there is not a car behind me!
Before I realized the brake lights did not come on, I had noticed cars approach very quick and then slam...
My '25 does the same. In my mind, setting it to "auto" would mean it will only turn on heated seats/steering wheel as needed. Turn on when it is cold / or not turn on when hot. A few days ago, it was a hot day, I hit the remote start a few minutes before getting in. The climate control, set to...
For me, I wanted a pickup for the occasional home improvement store run, hauling my bicycles and such, but I also need to get good fuel economy for commuting to work. I can't justify two vehicles. So a Maverick hybrid it is!
