No More AWD

In a moment of being impatient, I called my dealer and had him switch from the hybrid to the Eco AWD. I had always been on the fence about which one of these I wanted, and figured going to the Eco, I might get my vehicle quicker. When he tried switching, it let him add the Eco but not the AWD, and would not let him switch back to the hybrid. So now I have a build I don't really want.

Yea Im expecting awd to be a constraint soon, definite deal breaker for me if they ask me to drop that.

You didn't indicate what day/date your dealer attempted to change your order, but I've heard that Ford's ordering system is glitchy on days that Ford is trying to preview and schedule orders. Have your dealer try to make the change again on Friday. Apparently that's a good day for the system to accept changes.

He tried making the change on Monday. When I talked to him, I told him I did not want to make the change if it was risky or would screw anything up. He assured me it was not risky and was a simple change. He is now calling the Area Ford Rep to see if he can help. I'll let him know about the Friday changes.

I have a Bronco which is stuck in what is now known as "Ice Mountain" - a dirt field holding pen where incomplete built vehicles go to jail for a long time - 5 miles from the MAP plant.

I started to lose my mind. Found an Escape PHEV I am closing on and picking up next week to take the place of the Bronco.

Will decide on the Mav whenever it shows up sometime down the line.

Well that's terrible! Sorry to hear that. I ordered mine in Nov with AWD and they have changed my date more than once.

Make sure he isn't lying by calling ford directly. HOpe they aren't trying to take your original reservation. Never know these days, the way the dealers are acting.

Sorry you got schedule changes. I ordered mine beginning of Oct and still no build date due to the dealer still having Mav's in line ahead of me. EB 4K XLT in Area 51

Yeah I have been talking to Tim @fordvideoguy. He's been great. He pretty much confirmed what my dealer has been telling me during his youtube video last night. He wasn't able to add AWD to an order of his.
