XLs don't have the keypad so no.
Also to add to this even on the XLT and Lariat trim you do not need to use the door keypad to gain entry to the vehicle. The driver side door keypad use is optional not mandatory like @NJ Pinelands was asking about.

It's great for those of us that don't take the key out. We haven't had a lost key in over 20 years or more.

OMG, please tell me none of this crap is needed if you buy a base hybrid XL. I just want to use a normal key without memorizing a 37 digit number while dancing a Navajo Rain Dance, and reciting a Joyce Kilmer poem.
XL = no keypad. Even if it did, you dont have to use it if you dont want to.

Any Ford dealer will be able to pull the code from the computer.
So can anyone with forscan.

When I bought my previous vehicle ( 2009 Mercury Sable) from a Honda dealership, it took 2 trips to the Ford dealer to get it's code. ( They wrote down a 7 where there should've been a one. And I hadn't even heard of forscan at that point)
Once I had it, I printed that code out with my label maker and put it inside the trunk lid.
Need the vehicle hooked up to the scan tool to get the code.

Selling dealer should have noted the code on the paperwork/in their computer system somewhere, but this sometimes gets forgotten.

It's only a 5 digit code. You know, a perfectly normal digit count. Not 4, or 6...
So fun coming up with a 5 digit code that's easy to remember, but hard to guess...

I don't think that is correct.
The master 5 digit code will ALAWAYS work...it over-rides any new programmed codes. So dont ever let anyone but YOU know master. I allowed someone to enter my code while I was laden with pkgs and now I know they are entering my Mav anytime they want!.....and I can't do a dam n thing about it. Now I HATE the keypad. I will b forced to disable.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Was that so hard?

@unlimited do you know if the owner can add the keypad to an XL or does the dealer need to program it?

I had no problem adding it myself to 2012 Focus SE. I can't find an answer in the manual or using Google Foo.

Thanks in advance.

After almost 3 years of owning my '22 Lariat Hybrid, I've come to realize I wasn't given or don't have the keypad master code ....
So it has push button start, and I've seen the video where you use the 2 sets of fobs to get the code to briefly pop up on the dash screen.
My question to someone that may have already done this process is, on a Lariat is the spot to place the fobs under that mat that covers the wireless charging? I assume it would have to be on the side that doesn't do the charging, but in that same under mat location?

Wow and just like that, I found the answer on the inter web:
Passenger side floor board and up under the dash a bit, there is a removable plastic panel that covers fuses and some electrical. There is a label in there that has the factory master keypad code!

It's on your BCM in all Ford's as you found out. Yes, Google Search is your friend.

Or you can use both key fobs (Keyed or Push button) and turn the vehicle to on then cycle off with both fobs to get the key code as well displayed in the center IPC.
