No Insulation at Fender to engine!?

Ok got them and installed them

I think (using my well trained ear) the road noise is decreased, engine noise no change as far as I can tell.

I wasnt quite sure -but I believe there was a downturn on some noise. I agree with you there wasnt much difference in the engine noise but road noise seem less. Regardless I would rather have the insulators there then not. Good video by the way.

Fellow Maverick owners- I had noticed being able to smell oil/engine bay smell(s), when opening passenger door… come to find out the normal black foam/rubber or even insulated carpet material found on most all vehicles was missing!? This is the area behind both door hinges (driver/passenger) that is the fender to engine bay openings. I have attached a couple pictures. You can see where the insulation would attach with a retainer clip….? Is my Maverick the only missing these?, is your’s missing..? Is this another cost cutting? If cost cutting, I will have to add my own, one for noise and wind and etc, but also I don’t want to smell or hear or feel engine bay nuances…?? Never seen this before guys? This is both sides! As you can see the washer fluid reservoir passenger side, and driver side is the same….

Ok after a week I definitely believe they cut noise, it’s especially noticeable on the county roads that have the rough surfaces. It cuts some of the higher freq sounds I think.

Yep! Just as I feared. I do not have the insulation on my 1989 Ford Bronco. Can someone please help me complain to Ford about not having insulation on the outside of my Bronco?

It looks like all lariat trims and the XLT hybrid has them from what I'm reading. I'm curious if the XL hybrid and XLT EB with the lux package has them. It would make make sense to have them on a lux package instead of a non-lux. As the XL and XLT EB's without any lux packages don't have them.

Xlt EB w/Lux 4k tow, 360, sliding rear window, SIBL, Full size spare, Rear sonic park sensors in bumper, etc etc… no insulators…

We took the truck to the dealer for service today and while it was there we had them install the driver side and passenger side fender well baffles. They were not installed at the factory and specs of the truck are in my sig.

I honestly don't think it made a damn bit of difference as far as engine noise suppression, wind noise, engine smells in cab, ect, but we paid for them so we might as well have them installed. haha

Anyway, it's hard to tell from the pics but they are there in place on both side.

I think it has to make a difference. Can you see any light from the engine or is it completely covered? I ordered mine last month but still nothing yet.
