I just checked my hybrid XLT and it has insulation there. It is a poly wrapped foam and covers the space completely.
Hmm interesting, it doesn’t have any gap here like mine? (view from engine bay)

Can you take a picture or two for comparison?

OMG....that is so funny....I'd forgotten about that movie!
I laughed myself right into an asthma attack! Right out of Laurel and Hardy. That said, I may have to quit watching this forum, as I am starting to make a list of the missing parts I am going to have to buy when my Maverick gets here. God willing, my build week is March 21.

Mine has a black foam piece there but looks like it could fall out at any time.

Fellow Maverick owners- I had noticed being able to smell oil/engine bay smell(s), when opening passenger door… come to find out the normal black foam/rubber or even insulated carpet material found on most all vehicles was missing!? This is the area behind both door hinges (driver/passenger) that is the fender to engine bay openings. I have attached a couple pictures. You can see where the insulation would attach with a retainer clip….? Is my Maverick the only missing these?, is your’s missing..? Is this another cost cutting? If cost cutting, I will have to add my own, one for noise and wind and etc, but also I don’t want to smell or hear or feel engine bay nuances…?? Never seen this before guys? This is both sides! As you can see the washer fluid reservoir passenger side, and driver side is the same….

Same here on my Maverick. However I had a 2013 mazda 3 you could see into the engine compartment and I can see the same for my 2007 Corolla. It's just that the space happens to be larger on the Maverick. Seems normal to me.

This is another good place for ford to “cheap out” on to keep the price of the truck low. Better than cheaping out on something more important
Knowing Ford history of going cheap, I am afraid there will be a problem with the battery in the hybrid model. Is the Mav the Pinto of 2022?

Went to dealer and asked about insulators. Their team looked at build docs for XLT eco and said not included in build and they showed me the image/diagram so not a warranty issue. So I ordered them. $80.

Wow, Even my 3 old Fox-body Mustangs which were between 12,000 to 14,000 new, lasted more than 300,000. miles on the entire power train, had those insulation parts installed by Ford.

Ok picked mine up today. Doubt it's worth the $80 but I'll shoot some photos and video of putting them in and I'll try to see if there is any difference on noise.

Fyi to all-I ordered a set of these insulators and installed them today. Drivers side ---I installed from the engine compartment. No issue getting it in there. Passenger side---No go from the topside because of the washer reservoir so--- I installed by removing some of the fender well liner and worked the insulator upwards, as it is a tight squeeze around the washer fluid reservoir. I also opened both front doors all the way and that allowed access to the other side of the insulator which helped when working it up to the top of the fenders. For personal preference I jammed the top point of the insulator as high as I could. I would rather keep space at the bottom of the fender to allow for drainage. Overtime these may work their way down due to gravity, but time will tell.

Now for help with road noise, temp changes inside cab/doors, smells and other noises… I think they have a small use for sure. I will not pay for mine, I will work with dealer and Ford to have them done. No disrespect to Ford but that is thee dumbest bs I have ever heard or seen with this type of thing. Appreciate your pictures and updates! You are so awesome for doing this! Let us know any value add?
Thx g
